Quang Yen is one of the localities heavily affected by storm number 3.
According to preliminary statistics, up to now, 38 people have been slightly injured; 55 schools and the headquarters of the Department of Education and Training have been damaged; 19 commune and ward health stations have been severely damaged; over 25,000 houses have had their roofs blown off, including 160 near-poor households and policy households; 128 houses have collapsed; over 200 headquarters of agencies, units and armed forces have been damaged.
Over 16,000 trees were broken, 500 low and medium voltage electric poles and 2 Phong Coc and Phong Hai power stations were broken; over 800 oyster and mussel rafts and over 1,700 fish cages were damaged; over 1,418 hectares of rice were flooded; 218.6 hectares of crops were completely damaged. The telecommunications network was almost paralyzed and has not been repaired yet. The infrastructure of industrial parks in Quang Yen was damaged on a large scale. The damage to property, structures, and crops is still being updated.

To quickly overcome the consequences, the town mobilized over 2,000 people from the Army and Police units stationed in the area, along with over 100 vehicles, machinery and equipment to participate in search and rescue work; clean up the environment and repair damaged structures.
The forces have actively cleared fallen trees and supported damaged houses to stabilize their lives. Quickly deploy solutions to ensure safety in the face of the rapid rise in water level of Yen Lap Lake, threatening the lives of people in the area. Direct the Town Electricity and telecommunications units to move broken and fallen electric poles, and promptly restore power sources and telecommunications services.

The town's highest goal is to soon bring life back to normal and ensure safety for people; in which priority is given to speeding up the progress of fixing electricity and telecommunications problems to soon restore production of businesses and people. Currently, schools and medical units are urgently repairing damage, ensuring conditions for students to return to school soon. Continue to review and make statistics on assets, works, architecture, crops, livestock of people, as well as agencies, businesses... to have an official report.
Currently, communes, wards, agencies and units continue to count and classify damaged cases. On that basis, they will quickly support those without accommodation and those lacking food, along with guiding groups and individuals on support policies in accordance with the province's direction.
