On the afternoon of May 30th, the Vietnam U19 team continued their training in Medan, Indonesia, in preparation for their opening match at the 2026 Southeast Asian U19 Championship. The training session lasted 60 minutes, with the intensity adjusted to suit the approaching tournament.
The players focused on practicing group coordination, improving the link-up between lines, and enhancing their finishing efficiency. The Vietnam U19 team has made thorough professional preparations, ready for the regional tournament, with a focus on the match against host Indonesia.

After two days in Medan, Coach Yutaka Ikeuchi 's team has shown positive adaptation to the weather conditions, pitch, and playing environment. The players' training spirit remains high, creating a favorable foundation for the coaching staff to finalize their personnel and tactics for the opening match.


According to the plan, on the morning of May 31st, the Vietnam U19 team will attend a technical meeting and press conference before the group stage. Afterwards, the team will have their final training session on the afternoon of May 31st to finalize their preparations for the opening match. This is also the time when the Vietnam U19 team will finalize the official list of 23 players registered for the 2026 Southeast Asian U19 Championship.
At the 2026 Southeast Asian U19 Championship, Vietnam U19 is in Group A along with host nation Indonesia, Myanmar, and Timor Leste. According to the schedule, coach Yutaka Ikeuchi's team will face Timor Leste (June 1st), Myanmar (June 4th), and Indonesia (June 7th).
