U23 Vietnam arrives in Qatar, ready to conquer the U23 Asian Cup

(Dan Tri) - After a direct flight lasting more than 7 hours from Hanoi , U23 Vietnam arrived in Doha (Qatar) at 12:35 on April 8 local time (16:35 Vietnam time).

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team are ready for the training session before the 2024 AFC U23 Championship. Representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Qatar went to the airport to welcome and present flowers to the team.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy and community in Qatar, Mr. Cao Dinh Phan, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Qatar, said that in the past time, the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Qatar have been very interested in and followed the team's preparations for the 2024 U23 Asian Cup. "We always support and have faith in the team. I wish the whole team good health, good preparation and successful competition at the U23 Asian Cup," Mr. Cao Dinh Phan shared. Previously, as soon as they arrived at Hamad International Airport (Doha), the U23 Vietnam team also received a thoughtful and enthusiastic welcome from the host country's Organizing Committee. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team were arranged a separate area to complete immigration procedures and were actively assisted by volunteers to collect their luggage to transfer to the hotel.

Therefore, it took the whole team just over an hour to complete all procedures at the airport and move to a 5-star hotel arranged by VFF in Doha, about 20 minutes by bus from the airport. After the meal at the hotel, the U23 Vietnam players took the opportunity to rest and recover their physical condition. At 7:00 p.m. the same day (11:00 p.m. Vietnam time), coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will enter their first training session in Doha. The 2024 AFC U23 Championship will take place in Qatar from April 15 to May 3. U23 Vietnam is in Group D with U23 Uzbekistan, Kuwait and Malaysia. According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will play their opening match against U23 Kuwait on April 17. In the next two matches, the U23 Vietnam team will meet U23 Malaysia on April 20 and meet U23 Uzbekistan on April 23. In addition to competing for rankings, this U23 Asian final round is also a tournament to determine Asian representatives to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics. Specifically, the top 3 U23 teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The fourth-placed team (losing in the third-place match) will participate in a play-off match with an African representative to compete for a spot in France to attend the Olympics.
