Vietnam U23 finished the tournament at the bottom of their group.

From the start, the home team increased the tempo and applied constant pressure. Vietnam U23 played defensively, organizing a tight defense and waiting for opportunities to counter-attack. In the 6th minute, Le Van Thuan had a chance to shoot after a fairly fluid but inaccurate combination play.

The turning point came in the 39th minute. Following a hesitant clearance by the Vietnam U23 defense, Du Yuezheng quickly unleashed a powerful shot that beat goalkeeper Cao Van Binh. Prior to that, the home team had also threatened several times with shots from Mao Weijie, but none were accurate enough.

In the second half, the Vietnam U23 team increased the pressure in an attempt to find an equalizer. Consecutive personnel changes helped to make their play more fluid. In the 58th minute, Quoc Anh had a notable opportunity with a powerful shot after a pass from Quang Vinh, forcing the opposing goalkeeper to make a save.

However, against the well-organized defense and quick pressing of the Chinese U23 team, the Vietnamese strikers had difficulty creating clear scoring opportunities. Attacks down the flanks and long balls did not yield the expected results.

In the final minutes, the Vietnam U23 team launched a full-scale attack, but the China U23 defense held firm. Ultimately, the Vietnam U23 team accepted a 0-1 defeat in a match where their efforts were not enough to compensate for their ineffective goal-scoring.

At the end of the tournament, Vietnam U23 finished last in the group with 1 point, while Thailand U23 finished third with 4 points. Meanwhile, North Korea U23 won the championship with the same 5 points as China U23 but ranked higher due to goal difference.
