On the morning of August 20, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association, in coordination with relevant units, organized the Seminar "Supporting youth in innovative startups".
In his opening speech at the Seminar, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities Pham Van Thanh shared his personal experience, thereby affirming that the journey of starting a business, especially innovative and creative startups, is always full of difficulties and challenges.

"For young people with disabilities, those barriers are even greater, from access to capital, technology, knowledge, to issues related to social prejudice... However, it is in these challenges that we see resilience, creativity, and a strong desire to rise up. Many young people with disabilities have demonstrated their talent, intelligence, and courage, creating many positive values for the community," said Mr. Pham Van Thanh.
Agreeing with the above statement, Head of the Social Protection Department (Vietnam Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans) Nguyen Thi Cam Tu cited a number of models to support disabled youth, typically the program to accompany disabled youth to access technology and start-ups.
"The program has supported the training of more than 400 people with disabilities. Of these, 70% of the students have completed the course and 50% continue to pursue online businesses after the program. However, they still need more support to achieve clear success," said Ms. Cam Tu.

According to the representative of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans, in addition to traditional courses, many units have coordinated to deploy training on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in life to improve digital capacity for disabled youth. There is a student who is 65 years old but still studies diligently and becomes one of the top sales people. There are cases of severe disabilities, who have to stay in bed and need support for daily activities, but can still livestream to sell products and achieve positive results.
Speaking at the seminar, Director of the Vietnam Youth Startup Support Center Nguyen Phan Huy Khoi said: The Center is currently coordinating with the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities and TikTok Vietnam to organize a program focusing on applying science, technology and digital economy to develop livelihoods for disadvantaged young people.

To date, the center's training program has reached more than 10,000 people, including young people and young people with disabilities. In addition, the center is also connecting with organizations and businesses to implement a number of specialized activities such as: Building a specific training package for young people with disabilities; Supporting the livestream direct sales model; Connecting with banks to support access to financial capital; Developing a suitable affiliate marketing model.

At the Seminar, the Organizing Committee awarded funding to support 4 typical start-up projects of disabled youth, each project worth 50 million VND.
