Ms. Rana Flowers said that despite facing many difficulties and challenges, Vietnam has achieved many proud socio -economic development achievements, especially in implementing priority policies on child care and protection.
UNICEF welcomes Vietnam's initiative on the Resolution on International Day of Play recently adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, considering it a practical and meaningful contribution to the international community's common goal of comprehensive child development.
Ms. Rana Flowers affirmed that UNICEF always values its relationship with Vietnam and will continue to actively support the implementation of Vietnam's priorities in this important field.
According to Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, UNICEF plays an important role in caring for, educating, protecting and promoting the rights of Vietnamese children. The Ambassador welcomed UNICEF's effective cooperation and highly appreciated the efforts and positive contributions of Ms. Rana Flower in her role as UNICEF Representative in Vietnam, especially during the complicated Covid-19 pandemic.
The Ambassador expressed his hope that UNICEF will continue to support Vietnam in mobilizing resources, developing policies and promoting specific and practical cooperation projects to implement the results of the meeting between Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell in New York last March 2024.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to jointly organize activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - UNICEF cooperation, and at the same time take advantage of this milestone to set out cooperation orientations in the new period.
