The Ministry of Education and Training has recently issued document No. 8334/BGDĐT-GDPT dated December 18, 2025, to the Departments of Education and Training, providing guidance on the pilot implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) education content in general education.
According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, based on the pilot framework for AI education content, practical conditions regarding the teaching staff, facilities, needs and abilities of students, educational institutions proactively choose one or a combination of the following three organizational forms to implement AI education content for students: Integrating it into subjects and educational activities in the general education program; Implementing it through selected learning topics or independent themes; Organizing enhanced teaching, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
In particular, the integration of AI into subjects and educational activities within the general education curriculum is prioritized to ensure universality and avoid overloading the program; and to guarantee honesty and scientific standards in the process of exploiting and using AI.
For Computer Science, a subject that plays a crucial role in implementing AI education content for students, in addition to the content already included in the curriculum, some AI education content and topics should be integrated and enhanced to ensure suitability and effectiveness in the implementation process.
For other subjects and educational activities under the General Education Program, the Ministry of Education and Training provides guidance on the use of AI as a supporting tool to innovate teaching methods and organizational forms, and improve the effectiveness and quality of education.
With the implementation of elective or independent learning modules, educational institutions with sufficient teachers can choose content to develop elective learning modules or independent topics/modules with flexible durations and suitability for students according to the AI Education Content Framework.
With enhanced teaching methods, clubs, and extracurricular activities, educational institutions can diversify their organizational forms to disseminate knowledge and inspire students through close collaboration with higher education institutions, research institutes, businesses, organizations, and individuals, ensuring suitability to local conditions and compliance with legal regulations.
