Van Don attracts tourism investment.

Quang Ninh province has identified the development of Van Don Special Economic Zone as a new-generation economic zone, with tourism becoming a key economic sector, linked to the formation of a high-quality, internationally-standard service system; gradually affirming its role as the leading tourism hub of the country, building an international tourism center operating year-round. Following the province's direction, Van Don has gradually received investment in synchronized infrastructure, perfected mechanisms and policies, and attracted many large-scale, dynamic projects, creating a foundation for long-term sustainable development.

On December 19th, along with a series of 234 projects simultaneously launched and inaugurated nationwide to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party, two projects were also launched and inaugurated in the Van Don Special Economic Zone: the High-Class Complex Tourism Service Area Project in the Van Don Economic Zone and Phase 1 of the Crystal Holidays Harbour Van Don Tourism, Resort and Entertainment Complex Project.

Accordingly, the high-end integrated tourism service complex project in the Van Don Economic Zone, with a total investment of over 2 billion USD and covering an area of ​​over 244 hectares, will be launched. It will follow a modern and integrated model, becoming a high-end resort, entertainment, and gambling complex, hosting world-class events, and becoming an attractive destination globally . The casino section is expected to be inaugurated in 2028 and the entire project completed by the fourth quarter of 2034.

Also on December 19th, Everland Van Don Joint Stock Company (part of Everland Group) held the inauguration ceremony for Phase 1 of the Crystal Holidays Harbour Van Don tourism , resort, and entertainment complex project. Built on an area of ​​2.6 hectares with a total investment of over 5,600 billion VND, the project includes 5 towers of 28-34 floors and a 4-story international convention center with a capacity of 1,500 seats, equipped with high-standard sound and lighting systems, specializing in organizing domestic and international conferences and seminars.

Comrade Cao Tuong Huy, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Van Don Special Economic Zone, affirmed: The commencement and inauguration of these two projects mark a new stage of development for high-quality tourism and service infrastructure in Van Don Special Economic Zone and the province. The projects are vivid evidence of the effective cooperation and coordination between the government and businesses; of the determination and high responsibility of the investors, construction units, and consultants, along with the consensus and support of the local people.

Upon completion, these projects will contribute to expanding the urban and service space of the Van Don Special Economic Zone; forming a modern tourism, resort, and entertainment complex, creating more high-quality tourism products to meet the needs of domestic and international tourists, thereby effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of Van Don and Quang Ninh province.

Over the years, the Van Don Special Economic Zone has leveraged the attention of the central and provincial governments, utilizing all available resources, both within and outside the budget, to significantly improve its technical infrastructure, especially transportation, services, and tourism. Projects such as the Van Don International Airport and the Ha Long - Van Don - Mong Cai expressway have provided a significant boost to the local economy and society. In addition, a series of projects such as the Ao Tien International Port, Wyndham Garden Sonasea Hotel, and Angsana Quan Lan Ha Long Bay Resort are becoming high-end service and tourism highlights, attracting high-income tourists.

Currently, the Van Don Special Economic Zone is continuing to strengthen its efforts to attract investment in high-quality tourism and service projects, and develop golf courses according to the plan. Since the beginning of the year, the People's Committee of the Special Economic Zone has actively coordinated with the Economic Zone Management Board to organize conferences to review obstacles in the special economic zone. At the same time, it has coordinated to attract approximately 80,445 billion VND in investment, including the approval of 4 new projects with a total newly attracted capital of approximately 78,414 billion VND.

In addition, focus on implementing land clearance, working alongside businesses and investors to resolve difficulties and obstacles for projects such as: the Monbay Van Don high-end golf course and residential complex project; the Bai Dai ecological tourism area project; the high-end complex tourism service area project; the Sonasea Van Don Harbor City resort complex project - Phase 1…

The locality is also gradually diversifying tourism forms and products, improving the quality of tourism services towards sustainable development of the marine economy, green growth, conservation of biodiversity and marine ecosystems, and development of night-time economic models in the area. At the same time, it is mobilizing investment resources from the state budget, socialized capital, and integrated capital from national target programs to build a system of cultural and sports facilities in the special zone, villages, and neighborhoods that meet the prescribed standards; reviewing and compiling statistics on dilapidated facilities and small areas to include them in the public investment construction plan for the 2025-2030 period. Currently, the total amount of state budget capital allocated for the 2024-2025 period for 17 projects in the cultural sector is nearly 62 billion VND. Through this, the Van Don special zone is gradually being developed into a strategic breakthrough, and a gateway for international trade, strongly attracting domestic and international investment resources.
