Mobilized by the Farmers' Association at all levels, in April 2017, Mr. Vu Dinh Kien, a farmer member of Truc Noi commune (Truc Ninh) established Hoang Thanh Nam Dinh herbal cooperative, specializing in rice production, planting and processing medicinal herbs, providing agricultural services such as sowing and transplanting rice by machine, spraying pesticides by drone, harvesting by combine harvester, drying rice... From the initial success, Mr. Kien boldly applied scientific and technical advances, linked with cooperatives and farmers to expand production. The cooperative developed a direct production area of 10 hectares, a linked area of 40 hectares, purchasing 250-400 tons of fresh rice per crop; supplying 400 tons of rice each year, mainly Bac Thom rice, with a revenue of about 6 billion VND. In Hai An commune (Hai Hau), in 2024, the Commune Farmers' Association coordinated to guide members to establish a cooperative for aquaculture and seafood processing with the following models: raising loach with an area of 5.5 hectares, raising grass carp of all kinds on 1.2 hectares, raising 2,000 pigs; growing vegetables, intercropping fruit trees such as guava, lemon, areca, and clean vegetables on 3.5 hectares. Thanks to dynamism in production and business, the cooperative has achieved quite good results. The production models are confirmed to be suitable for the land and climate conditions in the area, bringing high economic efficiency, generating revenue of 15 billion VND/year, while creating regular jobs for 5 workers. These are just 2 of hundreds of effective collective economic models that have been propagated, mobilized, and guided to be established by the Association at all levels.
To promote the construction and development of collective economic models, the Provincial Farmers' Association has directed all levels of the Association to implement Resolution No. 10-NQ/HNDTW of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association on "Vietnam Farmers' Association participates in collective economic development in agriculture and rural areas in the period of 2020-2025"; advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue Plan No. 57/KH-UBND dated April 3, 2024 on the implementation of Decision No. 182/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the Project "Vietnam Farmers' Association participates in collective economic development in agriculture until 2030" in Nam Dinh province. The Provincial Farmers' Association has signed a coordination program with the Provincial Cooperative Union and related departments and branches on implementing the goal of 15,000 cooperatives and agricultural cooperative unions operating effectively; Promote propaganda, mobilization, and support farmers to develop agricultural economy, build new rural areas associated with restructuring the agricultural sector in the 2022-2025 period.
Along with that, the Farmers' Association at all levels promoted the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, helping each other get rich; focused on training good and reputable farmers in production and business to build models and be the focal point for linking and cooperating in household groups, cooperatives, and cooperatives. The provincial Farmers' Association organized 51 conferences to propagate production linkages according to value chains and building agricultural commodity value chains for thousands of farmer members who are good production and business households, branch members, and professional associations; coordinated with the Central Economic Committee of the Association to organize training courses to raise awareness and knowledge about chain production for over 500 officials and members of good production and business farmers. Farmers' Associations at all levels focused on supporting and guiding members to build and replicate many effective economic development models; mobilized farmer members to hire, collect, and accumulate land in association with chain production companies.
From 2017 to 2024, the Association has guided and directly established 15 new cooperative models and 175 cooperative group models, bringing the total number of agricultural cooperative models to 19 models with 203 participating members; 210 cooperative groups with 2,979 participating members. Many models put into operation have brought farmers together to develop production, increase the value of goods, create concentrated production areas, contributing to the formation of over 39 new models in linking production organization, consumption of agricultural products according to the value chain and concentrated specialized production areas according to the "large field" model for high economic efficiency. Typically: The chain of production, processing and consumption of high-quality rice associated with building the Nam Dinh rice brand of Toan Xuan Company Limited, Cuong Tan Company Limited; the chain of production and processing of dried agricultural products of Minh Duong Company; Seafood processing chain of Hung Vuong Company... Farmers' Associations at all levels have directly implemented the construction of dozens of linkage models, typically: "Linking according to the production value chain associated with the consumption of F1 hybrid sticky corn products HN88, supporting the consolidation of cooperatives" with a scale of 18 hectares in Thanh Loi commune (Vu Ban); "Linking according to the value chain associated with the consumption of black carp products" in Xuan Vinh commune (Xuan Truong); "Chi, HND group of poultry farming profession" in Trung Nghia commune (Y Yen); "Chi NND group of poultry farming profession, supporting and consolidating cooperatives" in Hai Hung commune (Hai Hau); "Circular agricultural production on the scale of households, farms, cooperatives, cooperatives" in Thanh Loi commune (Vu Ban)... The Associations at all levels have also mobilized members and farmers to effectively implement the program "One commune, one product". Along with that, farmers have participated in building 459 "Large Field" models with a total area of 21,037 hectares, of which 4,000 hectares have guaranteed products; continue to maintain and expand agricultural production models applying biological products, organic agricultural production, applying advanced science and technology; models of households, groups, cooperatives, and cooperatives linked with enterprises to produce agricultural products in chains. HND plays a central role in connecting farmers with enterprises to cooperate in production in chains and ensuring the harmony of interests between the parties.
Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province also directed the acceleration of the construction of professional farmer associations and groups; guided the grassroots in selecting and promoting the strengths of local industries and production and business sectors to build appropriate professional farmer associations and groups, ensuring the criteria of "5 self" (voluntary, self-conscious, autonomous, self-managed, self-responsible) and "5 together" (same labor field, production, business, service sectors; same concerns; same sharing; same responsibility and same benefits). In 2024, the Associations at all levels launched 15 professional farmer associations and 42 professional farmer associations, bringing the total number of professional farmer association models and groups in the province to 203 models with over 2,600 participating members. This is the basis for developing into new-style agricultural cooperatives and cooperatives.
In the coming time, all levels of Farmers' Association in the province will promote the effective implementation of the emulation movement "Officials and members of Farmers' Association actively participate in developing collective economy in agriculture". Support and guide farmers' association members to participate and develop diverse models of cooperatives and cooperatives with the motto of "equality, cooperation, mutual benefit". Build branches and professional Farmers' Association groups in collective economic organizations with conditions, contributing to the development of scale, quantity and improving the quality of collective economic models in a sustainable and effective manner in agriculture and rural areas.
