From library systems to publishing houses, a series of summer book programs and reading promotion activities have been and are being implemented, bringing a rewarding and creative summer filled with books – a place where children can live, learn, and dream.

New books for readers.

With the desire to bring a fulfilling summer of both joy and knowledge to young people in the province, Dong Nai Library has just introduced the 2025 Summer Book Catalogue with 62 special titles carefully selected from various publishers.

According to Tran Anh Tho, Director of the Dong Nai Library, with 62 selected and introduced book titles, readers only need to visit the library's fanpage and scan the QR code to find and read the featured books. Each book in this catalog will be a gateway to a new world , where children can freely explore, let their imaginations soar, and accumulate valuable knowledge and life skills. This will help them develop a daily reading habit – a habit that helps them grow both intellectually and emotionally.

Along with the Provincial Library, district and city libraries, authors, writers, poets, etc., in the province also joined the "race" to bring summer books to serve students at the grassroots level and donate books to students. Notable examples include the Vinh Cuu District Library, in coordination with Dong Nai Publishing House, donating 200 children's books to students at Ma Da Secondary School, Suoi Tuong branch; organizing talks and seminars about books, guiding students in choosing and reading books, as well as diversifying activities at 30 "Houses of Wisdom" in schools and 16 "Houses of Wisdom" in cultural institutions…

Coincidentally, major publishers are launching colorful summer campaigns. Kim Dong Publishing House is releasing many new books for children such as: *The Many Colors of Dragonflies*, *Doraemon - Nobita and the Adventure into the World in Pictures*, *Waking Up with the Sun*, *Stories from Dong Hop*, *Diary in the Dreamy Forest*… Meanwhile, Tre Publishing House is introducing many book sets for summer 2025 such as: *Mastering Your Emotions*, *Developing Good Habits*, *The Girl from Yesterday* (special edition with color illustrations), *Growing Up with Nguyen Nhat Anh's Books*.

To serve its readers, Nha Nam is organizing the 2025 Summer Book Fair with thousands of book titles discounted by up to 80%. This includes a 50% discount on new books during "Golden Hour," and book combos with significant price reductions.
40-70% off, plus many attractive gifts.

From May 26th to 30th, the Dong Nai Library will participate in the Festival of Library Staff to Promote Reading Culture and Introduce Books Commemorating Major National Holidays and Important Historical Events in 2025 in Dak Lak Province. With the theme "The Epic of the Nation," in addition to introducing a book, participating units will also showcase a new and effective model for developing reading culture and supporting lifelong learning in their localities; and participate in exhibitions and artistic book arrangements to serve readers.

Many playgrounds promote reading for students.

Beyond just reading, in the summer of 2025, young people in the province will also get to "play" with books through a series of engaging reading promotion activities. The summer book-based storytelling and drawing competition will be organized simultaneously from the provincial level to the grassroots. With the themes "Books Give Me a Thousand Wonderful Things" and "Dong Nai in My Eyes," this year's Dong Nai Province Book-Based Storytelling and Drawing Competition will take place in June at the Provincial Library, open to primary and secondary school students. With participation from libraries in 11 districts and cities, the competition promises to be a beneficial playground, honing skills, nurturing imagination, fostering a spirit of learning, and cultivating reading habits among children.

According to Nguyen Thi Minh Chi, Deputy Director of the Vinh Cuu District Cultural, Information and Sports Center, the Summer Book Storytelling and Drawing Contest is an annual activity that the locality has maintained for many years. In addition to participating at the provincial level, localities also organize contests at the district level and promote them in schools and within the system of grassroots cultural institutions. Through this, it helps form habits for students, encouraging them to learn about good people and good deeds, historical figures and events... to better serve their studies, enhance their knowledge, and form their character; educating them about reading as well as appreciating, preserving, and protecting books.

Currently, the Department of Education and Training is coordinating with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in Dong Nai province. The contest is open to students from grades 1-12. The organizing committee will accept entries until June 30th. The entries with the highest scores will be selected by the organizing committee to participate in the final round in Hanoi.
