Immerse yourself in the poetic atmosphere of the century-old flower village.
The first Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival organized by Dong Thap province, with the theme "Love for the Land - Love for the Flowers," will take place over 7 days (from December 30, 2023 to January 5, 2024). This is the largest-scale event ever held in Dong Thap, the capital of the "Land of Lotus Flowers."
The event was organized to honor the flower and ornamental plant cultivation profession in the Sa Dec City Square area (Dong Thap province). At the same time, the event aimed to promote the economic value of flower and ornamental plant products, a key sector of Dong Thap province's agriculture.
This, in turn, contributes to promoting trade, tourism , and investment, as well as publicizing and promoting the image of the "Land of Pink Lotus" to tourists near and far.
During the festival, many impressive cultural and tourism activities were organized with nine main programs, such as: the competition for decorating flower gates, flower streets, and office flower gardens; flower and ornamental plant spaces; honoring Sa Dec flower and ornamental plant growers; the Flower Fashion Contest with the theme: "Flower Colors by the Sa Giang River"; and the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival.
The vibrant colors offer a delightful experience for visitors exploring the Sa Dec flower village (Dong Thap province).

By this time, throughout the streets of Sa Dec city, flower arches, flower-lined roads, flower gardens, etc., have been decorated beautifully and impressively.

Experience the local market in the island region.
Meanwhile, in the heart of Cao Lanh city (Dong Thap province), many people are surprised to find a rural market in Tan Thuan Dong islet, offering only country-style dishes, giving many a feeling of returning to their childhood memories.
Here, it's easy to find childhood memories with many rustic dishes typical of the Mekong Delta region, such as banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake), banh khot (miniature savory pancakes), banh bo (steamed rice cake), banh duc (rice cake), banh la mi (rice cake wrapped in jackfruit leaves), grilled bananas, grilled sweet potatoes, grilled corn, and especially shaved ice syrup...
Ms. Huynh Thi Loi (59 years old), a small trader at Tan Thuan Dong rural market, said that her family has a tradition of making traditional folk cakes, dried bananas, and dried sweet potatoes.
Since this market opened, the family has had the opportunity to sell more items, which has helped stabilize their income compared to before.
The unassuming rural market on Tan Thuan Dong islet, Cao La Vinh city (Dong Thap province), is always a popular choice for tourists from near and far.
Sitting nearby, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ba (50 years old) also sells many things she finds around her house, such as wild water spinach, wild water lilies, wild sunflowers, papayas, various types of snails, clams, and various kinds of natural shrimp and fish.
Mrs. Ba said: "This place specializes in selling all kinds of copper goods; people bring whatever they have to sell. Since this market was established, this island has become more lively than before."
"The prices are very reasonable. Fast food like pastries costs from 10,000 to 20,000 dong. As for the copper items I sell here, they cost a few thousand dong per kilogram, depending on the type."
