Hue attracts tourists from near and far.
Early on the second morning of the holiday (August 31st), Mr. Ngo Bao Thanh's family (from Nghe An province) set off for Hue. On their private bus, the whole family agreed to stop for a quick meal before continuing their journey to arrive in Hue as soon as possible. Mr. Thanh shared: “My wife and I have been to Hue three times before, but this is the first time for the children, so everyone is excited. The whole family has prepared a long list of places to visit, have fun, and enjoy Hue's cuisine .”
With Typhoon No. 6 having subsided, the weather in Hue from August 31st onwards has been quite pleasant, favorable for tourism and travel. This year's holiday saw many families and groups of young people choosing independent travel, using their own cars or renting vehicles. Mr. Nguyen Van Quang (Dak Lak) said that thanks to navigation technology and detailed online reviews, traveling and eating have become more convenient and economical.
This is also the last long holiday of the year, before children start the new school year, so many families take advantage of the time to reunite and travel together. At destinations in Hue, especially the system of historical sites, it is easy to see a large number of domestic and international tourists visiting and experiencing.
A striking feature of the National Day celebrations is the ubiquitous display of the red flag with a yellow star in streets, tourist attractions, cafes, restaurants, and eateries. Not only is the national flag solemnly displayed, but its colors are also printed on shirts, hats, scarves, and even used as stickers on tourists' faces, as a way of expressing love for their homeland on this important national holiday.
According to statistics from the Department of Tourism, based on booking data and customer surveys, the total number of visitors to Hue during this year's September 2nd holiday is estimated at 196,000, an increase of nearly 51% compared to the same period last year. Revenue from tourism services reached approximately 310 billion VND, an increase of nearly 135%. Of this, the number of overnight stays is estimated at 92,000, with domestic tourists accounting for about 69,000. The average occupancy rate at hotels reached 72%; during the peak days of August 31st, September 1st, and September 2nd, many hotels were over 85% booked. Most hotels in the city center of Hue, coastal resorts, lagoon and waterfall resorts, and homestays in Hue city were almost fully booked for these three days.

According to a representative from Vietravel Hue Co., Ltd., independent travel and short-day tours are trending during this holiday season. Tourists visiting Hue often combine their trip with visits to nearby destinations such as Quang Tri and Da Nang. In Hue, they tend to explore historical sites, participate in community tourism, visit Tam Giang Lagoon, or enjoy the local cuisine. Although many people choose to travel independently, travel companies still receive many requests for services such as entrance tickets and hotel rooms.
Hue is a friendly and attractive destination.
This year, for the National Day holiday on September 2nd, the Hue Imperial Citadel Conservation Center announced free admission for Vietnamese citizens to all historical sites within the Hue Imperial Citadel Complex on September 2nd. In addition, many localities and tourist destinations are organizing festivals, programs, and experiential activities during this holiday. Notably, the Dien Hue Nam Festival will take place from August 30th to September 1st, and boat races on the Perfume River will be held on September 2nd. On the evening of September 2nd, a special art program celebrating National Day will be held at Ngo Mon Square, along with a high-altitude fireworks display featuring 1,000 fireworks illuminating the Hue Citadel, promising memorable moments for tens of thousands of spectators, locals, and tourists.
In A Lưới, the highland market, themed "Discovering Colors," takes place from August 30th to September 2nd, offering visitors a space to experience local culture, cuisine, and agricultural products, as well as games, sports competitions, and a spectacular folk art performance.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of the Department of Tourism, during this year's National Day holiday on September 2nd, Hue city will continue to focus on developing distinctive tourism products associated with culture and heritage, community tourism, and green experiences. Tourists will have the opportunity to participate in experiential tours; bicycle tours exploring Phuoc Tich ancient village, Kim Long garden houses, and Thanh Toan tiled bridge; eco-tourism and community-based tourism itineraries in Thuy Bieu, Phu Mau, A Luoi, Thon Doi, and the Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon; along with the Net Zero tour - "A Day of Green Living in Hue," which is attracting considerable attention.
The tourism industry and service providers are striving to build an image of Hue as a safe, friendly, and attractive city. This positive impression comes not only from products and services, but also from the dedication and hospitality of the people of Hue.
Mr. Ho Dang Xuan Lan, Chairman of the Hue City Hotel Association and General Director of Parkview Hue Hotel, shared: Before the holiday, hotels reviewed their facilities, increased staff, and trained their teams to ensure the best service, especially in the reception department - where guests' requests are directly received and processed. Professionalism, speed, and dedication are key factors in retaining tourists.
The Department of Tourism also requires accommodation establishments to publicly display prices, absolutely refrain from raising prices or pressuring customers during peak seasons, and maintain the image of Hue as a civilized and friendly tourist destination. Inspection and supervision are being strengthened; a 24/7 hotline is in place to promptly receive and handle complaints, ensuring the rights of tourists and businesses.
