Regarding the source of "May, Remembering Uncle Ho"

On May 16th, the Youth Union branch and the Veterans Association of Vinh Long Newspaper, Radio and Television, in coordination with the Youth Union of the Vinh Long Provincial Border Guard Command, organized a "Returning to the Roots" activity with the theme "May Remembers Uncle Ho".

On May 16th, the Youth Union branch and the Veterans Association of Vinh Long Newspaper, Radio and Television, in coordination with the Youth Union of the Vinh Long Provincial Border Guard Command, organized a "Remembering Uncle Ho in May" activity. This was aimed at commemorating the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), and simultaneously educating young union members about patriotic traditions and the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source."

The delegation took a commemorative photo at the historical and cultural site of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Temple.

The delegation visited and offered flowers and incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Temple (Long Duc Ward, Vinh Long Province). Here, the members learned about the history and significance of the temple, fostering national pride and raising awareness among the younger generation about their responsibilities in learning, working, and contributing to society.

On this occasion, the delegation organized a traditional activity program at Border Guard Squadron 2 (Truong Long Hoa Ward) and presented 10 gifts to families with preferential policies and households in difficult circumstances (each gift included 500,000 VND and 5kg of rice); awarded 10 scholarships to students who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies (each scholarship included 500,000 VND and 10 notebooks); and also donated a youth project, a flower garden, to the local children. The total cost of the program was nearly 20 million VND.

According to Mr. Do Thanh Sang, Secretary of the Youth Union branch of Vinh Long Newspaper, Radio and Television, the program is a key political activity of the Youth Union branch, aiming to continue educating on patriotic traditions and the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," arousing national pride and a sense of responsibility among young union members towards their homeland and country.

At the same time, the program facilitates members to gain a deeper understanding of the traditions of the Border Guard Force, enhancing awareness and responsibility in protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands; promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style; strengthening interaction, connection, and exchange of experiences in Youth Union work as well as in performing professional duties; and aiming to achieve accomplishments to celebrate the successful First Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vinh Long province, leading up to the Thirteenth National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
