Mr. Dinh Pit, Head of the Front Committee of Kuok village (Sro commune), said: Dat Dai Waterfall is located in the Dak Po Ko stream system, with ancient trees on one side and the villagers' fields and crops on the other. For generations, the waterfall has provided water for daily life, irrigation of crops, and a source of aquatic products such as eels, rockfish, loach, catfish, anchovies, shrimp, crabs, and snails. "The aquatic species living in the rapids of the waterfall feed on algae, so their meat is very firm, sweet, and fragrant, providing a rich food source to improve the daily meals of the people," Mr. Pit said.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Dinh Van Luei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sro commune, said: "Previously, the waterfall area had many swallows nesting on the high rocks. From then on, the local people called it Dat Dai waterfall, which translates to 'swallow waterfall' in Vietnamese."
For many years, on weekends, holidays, and Tet (Lunar New Year), a large number of people, including young people in the district, have come to Dat Dai Waterfall for recreation and experiences. The commune has developed a plan to develop Dat Dai Waterfall into a tourist destination and will submit it to higher authorities for consideration and investment support to maximize its potential and advantages. In addition, the commune regularly directs its cultural officials to coordinate with mass organizations and village heads to educate people visiting the waterfall to ensure safety and maintain environmental hygiene both inside and outside the waterfall area.
