Over time, many individuals and volunteer groups have quietly done many good deeds to help others and have been honored. Their good deeds, though simple, bring great joy to the community.
From her time working at the Social Work Department (Provincial General Hospital) until now, after retirement, with support from benefactors, Ms. Quách Kiều Phụng has always stood by hemodialysis patients. She raises over 100 million VND each month to support them.
At Tam Giang Tay Border Guard Station (Tam Giang Tay commune, Ngoc Hien district), the "Contributing Small Change, Sharing Difficulties" model has been maintained and developed for over 3 years. This serves as a "seed" fund to help many farmers escape poverty and stabilize their lives.
For the past five years, the image of Ms. Ma Ngoc Ngan, from Ward 4, Ca Mau City (far right), has become very familiar to patients at the Mental Health Care Center (Khanh An commune, U Minh district). Every month, thanks to contributions from benefactors, Ms. Ngan and her friends prepare and deliver food and drinks to the special needs patients there.
The young barbers of Barber Men's (Ward 5, Ca Mau City) offer free haircuts throughout Ca Mau City. The group has a small donation box; anyone wishing to contribute a small amount of money can do so to help buy rice and gifts for poor patients and elderly people living alone.
Ms. Phan Nhat Linh, from Ward 5, Ca Mau City (far right), has participated in blood donation activities 25 times. Her husband also accompanies her in blood donation and many other charitable programs.
