Thailand is one of the favorite destinations of Vietnamese tourists. With the goal of providing an additional convenient payment channel for customers when traveling to Thailand, VietinBank has deployed a cross-border payment service using QR Pay code.
Accordingly, customers only need to have a VND account opened at this bank and install the VietinBank iPay digital banking application to be able to use it at 5 million locations accepting QR Pay payments in Thailand. In particular, customers do not need to carry out any procedures or documents for foreign currency purchases and can still easily pay in Baht from VietinBank's VND account at a preferential exchange rate. Moreover, the daily QR Pay swiping limit is up to nearly 500 million VND, meeting customers' spending and shopping needs.
VietinBank deploys cross-border payment services to better support customers in their service usage journey. Payment by QR Pay in Thailand with only the VietinBank iPay application is considered a breakthrough step of the bank in constantly improving products and services towards digitalization and bringing optimal experience to users.
There are currently 7 Thai banks participating in QR Pay payment connection with VietinBank, including: Bankok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, Kasikorn Bank, Krung Thai Bank, Bank of Ayudhya, CIMB, Citi Bank. The list of connected banks will be continuously expanded and updated by the unit in the near future.
