Vietjet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong and Qazaq Air CEO Adilbek Umraliyev signed a cooperation agreement in the presence of General Secretary To Lam, Kazakhstan Deputy Prime Minister Yermek Kosherbayev and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.
At the event, the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance granted an Overseas Investment Certificate to Aviation Holdings, a member of Vietjet, to purchase a strategic stake in Qazaq Air. This is part of Vietjet’s international expansion strategy, contributing to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan in aviation, economic and cultural cooperation in general, and opening a new chapter for the Central Asian aviation industry.
Under the cooperation agreement, the two sides will jointly develop and operate Vietjet Qazaqstan, formerly known as Qazaq Air.
Vietjet Qazaqstan is a new-generation low-cost airline, expected to become a strategic aviation bridge between Kazakhstan and Vietnam, Southeast Asia and international aviation hubs. The airline will serve the increasing travel needs of the people of Kazakhstan, thereby promoting tourism, trade, and logistics across Asia, while contributing to local socio -economic development with thousands of high-quality jobs.

Also at the event, Vietjet Qazaqstan and Boeing Corporation signed a Framework Agreement on technical support for Vietjet Qazaqstan's Boeing 737 fleet. Specifically, Boeing will provide comprehensive support from providing technical software, spare parts, pilot and engineer training, to aircraft maintenance and upgrades to ensure the fleet operates efficiently and safely.
Vietjet Qazaqstan is expected to operate at least 20 Boeing 737 aircraft, strongly expanding its domestic and international flight network. The airline will apply a modern operating model, digital management and advanced personnel training system with technical and operational support from Vietjet.
