Vcloudia hopes to contribute to supporting businesses and organizations in Cambodia to maximize the power of technology to accelerate digital transformation.

Meeting the growing demand for digital infrastructure

Although the data center and cloud computing industry in Cambodia is still in its infancy, with the cloud computing market expected to be one-third the size of Vietnam by 2027 (according to Ipsos research), this is a market with great room for growth.

Recent ICT reports show that Cambodia is entering a digital services boom with double-digit growth rates each year, notably in the banking, e-commerce, logistics and e- government sectors. Demand for modern, secure and flexible cloud computing infrastructure is increasing, especially from small and medium-sized enterprises.

According to Ipsos research, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the cloud computing industry in Cambodia is forecast to reach 17.1% by 2027, equivalent to a size of about 371 million USD.

The Land of Pagodas not only focuses on synchronous investment in technology infrastructure, but also implements national programs aimed at applying the most advanced achievements, from cloud computing to artificial intelligence. Along with that, strong initiatives from the Government have created a solid foundation, opening up a favorable environment for cloud computing services to develop rapidly, in parallel with the development of the economy .

Facing the widespread wave of digital transformation, Viettel IDC launched Vcloudia - an open and comprehensive cloud computing ecosystem. Vcloudia not only brings with it the technological capacity and operational experience of over 17 years from Viettel IDC's cloud computing ecosystem in Vietnam, but is also specifically designed to suit the needs of businesses in Cambodia.

Mr. Le Ba Tan, CEO of Viettel IDC, said: “Going Global is an important part of our strategy. Viettel IDC inherits the success of the Group and takes advantage of the 10 international markets that Viettel has built. Cambodia is one of the markets that Viettel has invested in, so we have a certain understanding of this market and can take advantage of the available infrastructure to deploy the fastest and most suitable service for businesses here.”

The Vcloudia ecosystem consists of 5 main pillars: cloud computing, cloud storage, cloud backup, cloud network and cloud security; helping businesses deploy quickly, optimize investment costs, and meet strict security standards for important fields such as banking, finance, and government agencies.

The Vcloudia launch ceremony in Phnom Penh was also attended by representatives of Qualcomm - the world's leading technology corporation. In the coming time, Viettel IDC and Qualcomm will work together to provide artificial intelligence (AI) platforms and solutions to the Cambodian business community, supporting organizations to effectively exploit data, optimize operations and enhance competitiveness.

The beginning of the Go Global journey - Reaching the world

Currently, Viettel IDC owns 9 data centers in Vietnam that meet ANSI/TIA-942 Rated 3 standards, applying international security certificates such as ISO 27017, ISO 27001, ISO 27018, PCI DSS,... combined with infrastructure deployed in local markets. This will be a solid foundation for Viettel IDC to build a strategy to reach out to the international market, gradually establishing a regional digital infrastructure network.

“The launch of Vcloudia in Cambodia is just the beginning. We are committed to accompanying and contributing long-term value to the Cambodian economy in general and the digital economy in particular, just as the company has persistently accompanied the development of the Vietnamese economy for nearly 20 years. We also aim to become the leading Cloud service provider in the region, starting from Southeast Asia,” affirmed a representative of Viettel IDC.

In today's digital age, cloud computing is both an economic driver and a foundation for ensuring data sovereignty. Vcloudia not only helps businesses improve operational efficiency, but also creates spillover values for Cambodia's digital economy, a solid digital infrastructure, for a common development future.

The event in Phnom Penh not only marked a turning point for Viettel IDC but also contributed to affirming the competitiveness of Vietnamese technology in the international market. In the context of strong digital transformation, Cloud solutions deployed appropriately for each market will play an important role in promoting digital economic growth.
