This is a prestigious award from the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense, recognizing the outstanding contributions of generations of cadres and employees of Viettel Telecom Corporation throughout its 25 years of development.
Over its 25 years of development, Viettel Telecom has become the largest telecommunications enterprise in Vietnam, serving approximately 70 million customers, including more than 10 million 5G users. The company's cumulative revenue has exceeded 1 trillion VND, and it is among the largest contributors to national income tax.
Since 2004, Viettel Telecom has been one of the businesses contributing to expanding access to mobile telecommunications services, with the percentage of people using the service increasing from about 5% to over 100% after 5 years.
Currently, the company's fiber optic internet network connects nearly 10 million households, including many remote and rural areas, supporting the national digital transformation process.
Alongside its business activities, Viettel Telecom maintains numerous social programs, including "Heart for Children," "For the Studious Children," "Cattle Breeding to Help the Poor in Border Areas," and programs providing free internet infrastructure to over 39,000 schools nationwide. The total funding from these programs amounts to trillions of VND.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh, General Director of Viettel Telecom, said that the company is accelerating its shift from Telco to global Techco, aiming for service revenue of 115,000 billion VND by 2030, with non-telecommunications service revenue accounting for at least 20%.
Attending the ceremony, Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang - Chairman and General Director of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group - affirmed that Viettel Telecom is "a symbol of Viettel's culture and spirit - always shining brightly in every challenge," and expressed confidence that the strategy of transforming into a global Techco will help Viettel continue to maintain its leading role in the new technological era.
