Viettel honors 20 global 'stars'.

(Chinhphu.vn) - On May 29th, the Military Telecommunications and Industry Group (Viettel) held its annual Viettel's Stars event to honor individuals and teams with outstanding achievements during the year. These are the people at the forefront of key tasks: disaster relief, mastering science and technology, accelerating the application of artificial intelligence, and expanding business in both domestic and international markets.

To develop a high-tech aircraft capable of stable operation at flight ranges of hundreds of kilometers, the Viettel engineering team had to solve the problem of synchronizing thousands of mechanical and aerodynamic components, continuously testing, adjusting, and optimizing them. After many years of persistently overcoming technological limitations, the system has operated effectively and met stringent technical standards.

These two cases are among 10 individuals and 10 teams selected by Viettel from over 50,000 employees across continents to be honored. They span across the Group's strategic pillars: Telecommunications; Information Technology Solutions and Digital Services; High-Tech Industrial Research and Production; Logistics, E-commerce, and other fields. Their job positions encompass all levels – from field staff to department heads, center directors, and deputy general directors – with the belief that every contribution, wherever it is made, deserves recognition.

What these "stars" have in common is that they all chose the path of taking on difficult tasks, facing unprecedented challenges, and forging their own unique paths. This is proof of Viettel's culture and spirit – adaptability, readiness for change, and unwavering determination to pursue their mission to the end. This year's awards ceremony is themed "Pioneering Technology - Global Cooperation - Building the Future," and also kicks off the 2026 emulation campaign: "More Proactive - Faster - Bolder - More Effective."

Nguyen Van Cung, a Viettel technical staff member, not only kept the base station operational amidst the floodwaters to support rescue efforts, but also directly helped 40 people, including 11 children, escape the dangerous area over a period of 7 hours.

These individuals and groups directly affirm Viettel's innovation capabilities, demonstrating that the Group is playing a leading role in implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo – with a focus on creating breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

This year's awards, in addition to the usual ones, will include a study trip abroad or a domestic training course for each honored individual, as a way to further equip them for future success.

Speaking at the Viettel's Stars 2025 awards ceremony, Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, shared: "If everyone chooses safety, who will take on the most stressful tasks, who will go to the most difficult places? Viettel has achieved what it has today thanks to people who dare to take on difficult tasks, dare to face challenges, and do not back down from seemingly impossible missions."

The head of Viettel Group emphasized: "Today's award is not the destination, but the beginning of greater responsibilities. I wish each of you to maintain your light, continue to innovate, fulfill the commitments you have made, and most importantly, become a spreading flame, drawing your teammates and unit forward together."

Viettel's Stars is an annual event organized by the Vietnam Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel) to recognize and reward outstanding individuals and teams who constantly push their limits, persevere through difficulties, and create tangible value for Viettel's mission of "innovation for people".
