Viettel provides information rescue in Thai Nguyen during historic flood

Faced with the complex developments of the natural disaster, Viettel quickly activated the highest-case response plan. More than 300 personnel from neighboring provinces, including elite forces from corporations, were mobilized to Thai Nguyen .

Viettel equipped 50 boats/canoes to transport fuel to isolated mobile base stations (BTS), dozens of drones to perform reconnaissance missions, transport equipment and fuel to flooded and landslide areas that cannot be reached by road. In addition, Viettel deployed satellite phones, walkie-talkies, many mobile broadcasting vehicles, 100 generators and 1,000 batteries to ensure communication connection for people, supporting rescue work.

Along with infrastructure repair, Viettel has implemented timely support policies. for customers in affected areas. The Group added 20,000 VND to the accounts of 48,000 subscribers in Thai Nguyen affected by the flood. At the same time, Viettel gave an additional 50% of traffic for the ST15K and 5G30 packages to 79,000 subscribers, and gave 50% of the first top-up card (20% for voice use, 30% for data) to 98,000 subscribers to ensure that customers can both stay in touch and update information in emergency situations.

Viettel’s technical team is still persistently staying at the hot spots to check, reconnect power sources, replace batteries, and broadcast backup signals. Small boats, drones, and specialized vehicles are closely coordinated to reach the deeply flooded station area, despite slippery terrain and landslides.

Viettel Post also mobilized forces to transport goods and necessities to areas heavily affected by floods.

With the synchronous deployment of human resources, specialized equipment, technology solutions and customer support policies, Viettel has isolated and controlled the impact of information network incidents, minimizing the area of ​​lost communication.

With the rain continuing and floods likely to last for several days, Viettel is committed to continuing to increase its forces and equipment and closely coordinate with local authorities to ensure that the "information blood vessels" are not broken, serving people in emergency situations.
