The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Phung Quang Hiep, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Members of Vinachem, and Mr. Nguyen Minh Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Also in attendance were representatives from the Group's leadership, specialized departments and member units, representatives from units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and 20 Vietnamese Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to many key countries and regions around the world .

Defining the role of diplomacy in the chemical industry development strategy.

At the meeting, Vinachem's leaders presented an overview of its development strategy for the 2026-2030 period, emphasizing the goal of building Vinachem into a strong economic group, playing a crucial role in the industrial supply chain, while also boosting exports and participating more deeply in the global value chain.

According to Phung Quang Hiep, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vinachem, in the context of increasingly fierce international competition and ever-higher environmental and technical standards, economic diplomacy is no longer just a supporting effort but has become one of the decisive factors in the effectiveness of production, business, and investment development of enterprises.

The experience from 2021-2025 shows that, through diplomatic channels and international cooperation, Vinachem has maintained a stable supply of raw materials, expanded export markets, and gradually enhanced its position in the international arena. The Group's products are now present in more than 70 countries and territories, with annual export revenue exceeding 700 million USD.

Expanding multifaceted cooperation: from markets to technology

Based on its new development orientation, Vinachem identifies expanding international cooperation as a crucial pillar, focusing on key areas such as: developing export markets, securing strategic raw materials, accessing modern technology, and promoting green transformation.

During the meeting, Vinachem proposed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the system of Vietnamese representative offices abroad provide support on several key areas. These include support for trade connections and market expansion for key products such as fertilizers, rubber and tires, batteries, and basic chemicals; and assistance in finding and evaluating partners for important raw material supplies.

The corporation also proposed promoting investment connections and technology transfer, especially in the fields of pure chemicals, electronic chemicals, new materials, environmental technology, and circular economy—key areas in the corporation's green development strategy.

Vinachem also proposed strengthening support in terms of legal frameworks, removing trade barriers, sharing market information, and providing early warnings of risks related to policies, technical standards, carbon mechanisms, and trade defense measures—factors that are increasingly impacting the export activities of businesses.

The working program between Vietnam Chemical Corporation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not only an information exchange but also a concrete step towards establishing a close and long-term coordination mechanism between businesses and the diplomatic system.

Partnering with businesses in restructuring global supply chains.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang emphasized that, in the context of a volatile global economy, Vinachem's ability to maintain growth momentum, expand markets, and enhance competitiveness is proof of the Group's internal strength and correct direction.

At the meeting, the Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese Representative Offices abroad affirmed their readiness to accompany and support businesses in implementing economic diplomacy, especially in connecting markets, providing information, and assisting in handling issues arising during international cooperation.

Opinions also suggest that the current global supply chain restructuring context is opening up significant opportunities for Vietnamese businesses, including Vinachem. The trend of international partners prioritizing countries with stable political environments, along with the increasing demands for food security and essential supply chains, is creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese fertilizers, chemicals, and input materials to increase their presence in the international market.

The working program between Vietnam Chemical Corporation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not only an information exchange but also a concrete step towards establishing a close and long-term coordination mechanism between businesses and the diplomatic system.

In the context of Vietnam's increasingly deep integration into the international community, the requirements for state-owned enterprises are not only efficient production and business operations but also a pioneering role in expanding development opportunities abroad. With clear direction and the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vinachem has more favorable conditions to realize its double-digit growth target, enhance its competitiveness, and affirm the position of Vietnam's chemical industry on the world economic map.
