Special award for robot creators for the environment.
The innovative robot project by the Dong Hanh team (from My Phuoc Secondary School, Binh Duong ) to process and store clean water for mangrove areas in the Southwest of Vietnam has excellently won the championship in category B4 (Future Innovator) at the Robotacon WRO 2024 competition.
The students became one of the teams representing Vietnam at the world robotics competition to be held in Turkey and Singapore this November, and also won the "Raising the Bar" award presented by Vinamilk for teams with groundbreaking creativity.

Vinamilk's "Raising the Bar" award focuses on sustainable development technology, recognizing teams that excel in unexpected challenges inspired by Vinamilk; and teams with innovative ideas that address pressing environmental issues, encouraging a spirit of progress and a willingness to push their limits.
Nguyen Ngoc Mai An, a member of the "Companion" team, shared that the reason the team chose the project of robots for processing and storing clean water for people in the Southwestern region of Vietnam was because they wanted to contribute a small part to improving the drought and salinity situation there, helping people to alleviate the hardship of having to carefully conserve every drop of water for daily use.
“It was a surprise that our team's model received Vinamilk's “Raising the Bar” award. Our team never thought we could win this award, and we deeply appreciate it for encouraging ideas focused on the environment and sustainable development,” Mai An added.

“I personally experienced the vibrant and intense atmosphere of the competition and was incredibly surprised by the students' talent in programming, automation, and creativity. This makes me even more confident in the future generations of Vietnam. I hope that they will always nurture the spirit of ‘Boldness,’ ‘Determination,’ and ‘Always Being Themselves’ in their creative learning journey, so that they will continuously create successes not only for themselves but also to help the community and make life better,” shared Mr. Nguyen Quang Tri, Marketing Director of Vinamilk.

The greatest reward is knowledge and experience.
Accompanying the competition for over a month leading up to the new school year, Vinamilk and the organizing committee provided contestants with a platform for critical thinking and practical application of robots in sustainable development, through examples at Vinamilk Green Farm and Vinamilk's modern factories. This contributed to inspiring creativity and fostering solutions and applications of technology in production and daily life, aiming for environmental protection and sustainable development.
Through this, the students also understand that winning a competition is not just about winning; the greatest "reward" they receive is a journey of creativity, experience, knowledge acquisition, and the exploration of their own potential.

Vinamilk Green Farm is the main sponsor of this event. Besides receiving nutritional support to perform at their best, the young athletes also learned about the sustainable farming practices of Green Farm and Vinamilk's modern factory.
For example, at Vinamilk's largest liquid milk factory, automated LGV robots are used to transport, lift, and stack finished product pallets into the warehouse. These robots are programmed to automatically calculate the most optimal movement path, saving energy and reducing emissions. These applications also inspired the organizers to design unexpected challenges for the Robotacon WRO 2024 contestants. Accessing real-world examples from Vinamilk's farms and factories helps the students better understand sustainable development.

Commenting on the quality of this year's competition, Mr. Pham Ngoc Tien - Head of the Professional Advisory Board for the Robotacon WRO 2024 competition, assessed: “The challenges tested the robot design and programming skills, as well as logical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and social awareness of the Robotacon contestants. In particular, this year's challenge included a surprising simulation of factory and green farm operations, testing the teams' ability to find technological solutions for sustainable production and development, and raising awareness of environmental protection.”
Accompanying her child continuously from the Southern regional finals to the national finals, Ms. Nhu Quynh (parent of Hung Anh - HONGBANG1 team, also the 2023 Robotacon champion and top 6 finalist in the world finals in Panama) shared : “Every year the competition has many surprises and innovations. This year, the organizers even collaborated with Vinamilk to take the children on a tour of the farm and factory. I think it will help the children gain more knowledge, such as how the milk cartons they drink are made, and how they can apply what they are learning about robots and automation to real life. I find it very interesting and meaningful.”
This year, the Robotatcon WRO competition has selected 13 outstanding teams (ages 8-19) to represent Vietnam at the World Robot Olympiad in Turkey (in November 2024); and 20 teams (ages 6-10) to represent Vietnam at the international robot innovation competition in Singapore, with the support of Vinamilk.
