(Dan Tri) - 6 large corporations in Vietnam and Japan announced a series of challenges that need solutions. This is an opportunity for innovative and start-up businesses from Japan and the Southeast Asian region.
Vingroup,FPT , MoMo pose difficult problems for startups
With the development of the electric vehicle industry, the problem of how to reuse and recycle batteries becomes more urgent. Currently, each year up to 70% of batteries are discarded or recycled when battery capacity decreases. Maximizing the use of used batteries will help reduce emissions, protect the environment as well as reduce the cost of electric vehicles.
This is a big challenge of VinES Company (a member of Vingroup Corporation) presented at the announcement ceremony of the program "Inno Vietnam - Japan Fast Track Pitch 2023" (Innovation Vietnam - Japan: Road to success) organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) in coordination with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam on the morning of August 29.
The program was held for the first time in Vietnam with the aim of attracting innovative and start-up businesses from Japan and Southeast Asia to solve urgent problems that large businesses and corporations are facing.
Six large corporations from Vietnam and Japan, including Vingroup, Mobile Online Services Joint Stock Company (M_ Service - owner of MoMo e-wallet), FPT Corporation, Kokyu Corporation, Money Forward Corporation, and Fujikin Danang Research, Development and Production Center, announced the challenges they are facing.
For MoMo, Mr. Nguyen Ba Diep - co-founder and senior vice president - said that the business is facing 3 challenges. The first is how to promote financial inclusion for the majority of people, through personal credit. To do this, it is necessary to have a data system and a way to approach analyzing personal credit scores. However, there is currently no model that can do this in Vietnam.

The second challenge is how to make financial services accessible to people with low levels of education when they are not familiar with mobile services. The third challenge is integrating charity activities into MoMo's payment solutions.
Representative of FPT IS company (a member unit of FPT Group) presented 2 problems that need to be solved and are also opportunities for start-ups.
The first is to promote transparent trading and management of carbon credits. Carbon credits are a solution to help improve environmental pollution, when businesses that emit CO2 will buy credits from projects that create O2. However, there is currently no solution to ensure transparency for transactions.
The second is the problem of building a virtual assistant system to help people access legal documents and management regulations of state agencies more easily.
Solve 4 main problems
According to the organizers, the program received 758 solution registration applications from many individuals and businesses in Vietnam and internationally in 8 different fields. Of which, nearly 60% came from startups, the rest came from corporations and innovative small and medium enterprises.
Solutions are focusing on four main issues.
The first is to improve management capacity for small and medium enterprises through digital transformation. Vietnam's economic development currently depends largely on small and medium enterprises (SMEs). However, these enterprises often face difficulties in improving management capacity.
The solutions focus on providing modern management tools such as data management, market analysis, and financial management, to increase competitiveness and sustainability for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Second, digital transformation applications support small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in the global value chain. Connecting to the global value chain not only expands the market and enhances the development of Vietnamese enterprises, but also helps SMEs access advanced technology and production processes.
Digital transformation solutions are applied to optimize production, management and transactions, helping SMEs become an important part of the global value chain and promote economic growth.
The third is to strengthen the connection between FDI enterprises, large enterprises and SMEs through digital platforms. Cooperation between domestic and foreign enterprises plays an important role in sharing knowledge, technology and facilitating development. These solutions help to take advantage of the benefits of combining different resources and capabilities, promoting sustainable development.
Fourth is to enhance effective dialogue between the Government and businesses via digital platforms. The relationship and continuous communication between the Government and businesses plays an important role in determining a common direction and creating a favorable business environment.
Solutions that enhance dialogue through digital platforms help reduce time and information gaps, creating opportunities for businesses to participate in shaping influential policies and decisions.
