The collaboration betweenFPT and Smart Holdings has been elevated through the establishment of a joint venture company.
The joint venture aims to promote the digital transformation of Japan's manufacturing industry, with automobiles being a strategic focus, in which FPT and Smart Holdings hold 49% and 51% of the shares respectively.
This collaboration aims to meet the growing demand for digital transformation in Japan's manufacturing industry, particularly in the following trends: Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV), Mobility as a Service, and carbon neutrality goals.
The joint venture benefits from FPT's in-depth technological capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI), digital technology, and visual-language modeling, as well as Smart Holdings' deep experience in the Japanese manufacturing industry and extensive partner network with leading automotive corporations.
Initially, FST-Japan will focus on developing projects with a major automotive group, and will then expand to other clients in the automotive industry. Key areas of focus for FST-Japan include digitizing design drawings, improving the quality of solution proposals, and supporting manufacturers in meeting stringent quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
Over the next five years, the company expects to generate business opportunities worth approximately $20 million (equivalent to 3 billion yen).

Mr. Do Van Khac, Deputy General Director of FPT Software and General Director of FPT Japan, FPT Group, affirmed: "The establishment of the joint venture is part of our long-term strategy with the goal of promoting the digitalization of Japanese industry, especially the automotive sector."
Koichiro Sato, President and CEO of Smart Holdings, emphasized: “We will create new value by combining global experience and world- class human resources with direct implementation capabilities and Japanese quality, thereby delivering advanced services to manufacturing businesses, especially customers in the automotive industry.”
FPT established a specialized subsidiary in the automotive technology sector in 2023 and currently possesses a global network of 5,000 engineers, collaborating with automotive companies, component manufacturers, and chip manufacturers worldwide.
