This event is part of AEON's multi-faceted approach to promoting the consumption of Vietnamese goods and contributing to sustainable economic development, following the week-long exhibition of Vietnamese products and business networking activities at AEON Binh Tan in early December, aimed at sharing technical standards and seeking partners to develop AEON's own-brand products.

Representatives from AEON addressed the concerns and difficulties of local businesses at the event "AEON Vietnam accompanies and develops together with local businesses and business partners."

The "AEON Vietnam Partnering and Developing with Local Businesses and Business Partners" program was first initiated by AEON Vietnam in Hue in 2023 and has received positive feedback from suppliers. Following that success, the program is being implemented in Ho Chi Minh City, before expanding to Hanoi with an event scheduled for January 8th, 2026, gradually spreading the model of sustainable partnership and development with local businesses in areas where AEON Vietnam operates.

Aiming to partner with the Vietnamese Government in realizing the "Domestic Trade Development Strategy for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045" and the Action Plan of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, AEON Vietnam continuously strives to coordinate with local management agencies and businesses, supporting businesses in gradually participating in modern supply chains.

Stemming from practical barriers and the needs of local businesses, AEON Vietnam prioritizes supporting businesses in accessing modern retail standards, understanding and complying with current regulations; and resolving common obstacles when accessing modern distribution systems, helping to shorten the time to market, minimize risks, and enhance competitiveness. Through this, AEON Vietnam hopes to contribute to promoting the consumption of Vietnamese goods, creating a foundation for sustainable consumption connections, and contributing to the development of domestic trade in a modern and sustainable direction.

The program is designed with two core components to support suppliers in standardizing processes and enhancing their capacity to participate in modern retail systems. In the first phase, the program focuses on introducing the standards and requirements for becoming an AEON Vietnam Supplier, while also sharing common challenges businesses face when accessing modern retail channels. A highlight of the program is that, in addition to providing AEON's standards, businesses also receive insights into practical issues in quality management, helping them learn from experience and improve their product control processes. Following this, the program implements three in-depth training courses on traceability, product testing management, self-declaration documentation, and labeling, with content updated according to the latest current regulations.

The "AEON Vietnam Accompanying and Developing with Local Businesses and Business Partners" program in Ho Chi Minh City was attended by Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Chau Thi Le - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tay Ninh province; Ms. Phan Thi Hai Yen - Representative of the Trade Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Nai province; and Ms. Luu Thuy Trang - Representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center (ITPC). The program is designed for businesses that have not had many opportunities to access AEON's standards but aspire to become AEON Vietnam's Suppliers in the present and future. Accordingly, the program prioritizes businesses of medium to large scale, owning factories or production plants, and meeting food safety requirements as stipulated by law (such as HACCP) or equivalent. Besides stable production capacity, businesses with experience supplying modern retail channels or large retail systems, or those with a sustainable development orientation, offering environmentally friendly products, green packaging, reducing plastic, and focusing on ESG, will be given priority consideration. Based on these criteria, the program in Ho Chi Minh City will be considered. It has attracted more than 250 businesses to register to participate.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hue, Senior Director of Human Resources, Brand and Supplier Strategy at AEON Vietnam, shared: " The training program is designed to support businesses in understanding Vietnamese regulations applied by supermarket chains, enhancing their ability to proactively manage product quality, and accessing export standards for the Japanese market. The program's goal is not only to help businesses develop sustainably and strengthen their competitiveness, but also to support expanding the domestic market, exploring international export opportunities, and aiming for long-term business growth."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hue, Senior Director of Human Resources, Brand and Supplier Strategy at AEON Vietnam, shared at the event.

Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong – Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City Speaking at the event, he shared that he appreciated AEON Vietnam's efforts in supporting local businesses through networking activities, training, and sharing modern retail standards. Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, shared his thoughts on the event "AEON accompanies and develops together with local businesses and business partners."
