On the morning of April 19th, Vingroup officially held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Can Gio coastal tourism urban area project (commercial name Vinhomes Green Paradise), located in Long Hoa commune and Can Thanh town, Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City.
Attending the ceremony were former President Nguyen Minh Triet, former President Truong Tan Sang, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Duoc, and others.

The aspiration to become a world- leading ESG urban area.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vingroup - emphasized that the group has determined that the development of Can Gio urban area cannot follow the old path but requires a completely new approach. Therefore, Vingroup will build the Can Gio reclaimed land tourism urban area into a world-leading ESG urban area.
"The project will be planned and developed systematically according to international standards, aiming to become a world-class entertainment paradise, an ideal ecotourism and resort destination in Vietnam," Mr. Quang said.
Representatives from Vingroup pledged to focus all available resources on implementing the project in a systematic, coordinated, and decisive manner, making a practical contribution to Ho Chi Minh City's development strategy in this era of national progress.

According to Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai, the Can Gio coastal tourism urban area will create tens of thousands of jobs, promote the development of services and trade, increase budget revenue, and improve the quality of life for the people.
At the same time, once operational, the project will become a major and important milestone in the strategy to transform Ho Chi Minh City into an international economic, financial, and tourism hub, in line with the city's orientation.

"The city will work closely with the investor throughout the entire project implementation process, expedite administrative procedures, and create the best possible conditions in terms of infrastructure connectivity and investment environment," Mr. Hai said.
At the same time, the city will closely monitor the implementation of commitments on environmental protection, ecosystems, and community responsibility, ensuring a harmonious balance between the economy and nature in line with sustainable development principles.

Ho Chi Minh City leaders believe that with Vingroup's capabilities and experience, the support of the people, and close coordination between all levels of government, the Can Gio coastal tourism urban area project will be successful and become a new symbol of a modern, humane, and sustainable Vietnamese coastal city.
There's a 108-story tower, an offshore wind power system...
The Can Gio coastal tourism urban area, whose detailed 1/500 scale plan was approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in March, has a total scale of approximately 2,870 hectares, of which more than 1,357 hectares are reclaimed land. The urban area is divided into four main zones: A, B, C, and DE.
Oriented towards developing into a multi-functional coastal tourism urban area, the project will include types of tourism such as resort tourism, conference and seminar combined with leisure (MICE), smart city, high-tech services, along with a system of modern housing and hotels.
The city anticipates a maximum urban population of nearly 230,000 people and the capacity to welcome 8.9 million tourists annually.

According to Vingroup, one of the project's highlights is the Blue Waves Theatre complex, spanning 7 hectares. This complex will house large theaters for opera, symphony, and large-scale variety shows.
In addition, the project will include a golf course, a 122-hectare entertainment complex with an open-air Safari zoo, the 5-star Landmark Harbour international cruise ship terminal, and a 108-story tower integrating commercial, office, and hotel spaces.
Notably, Vingroup also plans to develop an offshore wind power system 10 km from the shore, aiming to provide green energy for the entire Vinhomes Green Paradise urban area. The wind power project will apply advanced technologies, ensuring high technical standards and environmental friendliness.

In parallel with this project, Vingroup also proposed investing in a high-speed urban railway line connecting Nguyen Van Linh Street (Tan Phu Ward, District 7) to the 39-hectare plot of land adjacent to the land reclamation project, with a total estimated investment of over 4 billion USD.
Besides urban development, Vingroup also proposed that Ho Chi Minh City allow one of its member units to research and develop a tourism development plan, ensuring a balance between investment and development and requirements for environmental protection, forestry, and biodiversity. The plan will be submitted to the competent authorities for consideration and approval in accordance with the law.
