457 Outstanding Young Teachers of Ho Chi Minh City Honored in 2024

On the evening of November 18th, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union honored 457 young teachers who received the "Outstanding Young Teacher" award in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024.

The diligent "ferryman"

In her congratulatory remarks, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy stated that it can be affirmed that the 457 teachers who were honored are diligent "ferrymen" guiding students.

The teachers have overcome difficulties with their love for the profession, their love for their students, and their dedication to the cause of education and training, fostering high-quality human resources for the city and the country.

Ms. Thuy said that the journey of bringing knowledge to the classroom, and the challenge for each teacher and lecturer today, is the need to constantly improve teaching skills, professional qualifications, and foreign language proficiency.

These are also the necessary skills to meet the training and development program requirements and find solutions so that every day at school is a joyful day for the children, and every lesson is an exciting experience.

We must ensure that students feel the school is their second home, and that their teachers are close friends and companions. The city hopes that those honored will continue to promote and spread love.

I will always love my profession and always be there for my students.

During the exchange on stage, young educators from different workplaces spoke about their mission and love for the profession.

Teacher Luu Hoang Phuc (a teacher at Lac Long Quan Primary School, District 11) spoke about the mission of a teacher – the head of the Youth Union – to be a friend and how to always be close to his students and Youth Union members.

"Even though we are teachers, learning and striving to overcome all difficulties must always be the guiding principle throughout our journey in the teaching profession," Mr. Phuc shared.

Meanwhile, Ms. Hoang Thi Hong Trang (lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education) shared a story inspired by the teachers in her life.

Instead of choosing a career path, she decided to become a lecturer, not only to impart knowledge but also to inspire younger students at the school that has produced generations of educators.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union visited teachers and educational and training institutions; developed and distributed publications introducing the traditions of the education sector to union members and young people; and shared inspiring stories about exemplary teachers who constantly strive and are dedicated to the "cause of nurturing future generations".

It also introduces research projects, models, and initiatives in innovating teaching methods and improving work efficiency...

The City Youth Union also launched an online activity called "A Thousand Words of Gratitude" for students to design publications including their thoughts and wishes of gratitude to their teachers and share them on social media.
