VnExpressVnExpress23/06/2023

The index representing the Ho Chi Minh City stock exchange reversed its downward trend today, extending its upward momentum for the fourth consecutive session to return to the price levels seen at the end of September 2022.

The VN-Index closed at 1,129.38 points, up more than 4 points from the reference point, although buying pressure remained relatively unchanged compared to yesterday. The driving force behind the weekend's increase came from large-cap stocks in the VN30 basket such as VNM, VPB, BVH, and HPG.

On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange today, 235 stocks rose and 200 stocks fell. Banking, securities, and aviation were the sectors that saw widespread gains; while real estate and oil and gas stocks faced strong selling pressure, with most closing below their reference prices.

Market liquidity reached nearly 18,200 billion VND, with the VN30 basket contributing over 7,000 billion VND. The top 5 stocks in terms of trading value were VPB, VNM, HPG, VND, and STB, with liquidity ranging from 500-800 billion VND. A common feature of these stocks was that they all increased compared to their reference prices.

Foreign investors disbursed approximately VND 1,180 billion today, while selling over VND 1,220 billion, resulting in a net selling value of about VND 40 billion. HPG continued to be the most heavily bought by foreign investors with over VND 128 billion, followed by SHS, VHM, and KDH.

According to Phu Hung Securities Company's assessment, the market is continuing its short-term recovery trend. Investors are advised to continue pursuing short-term trading positions, prioritizing stocks with strong fundamentals, projected growth in Q2 business results, and those attracting capital inflows.
