The market fluctuated for almost the entire trading session, but the VN-Index finally conquered 1,200 points at the close, recording its highest point in nearly a year, since September 2022.

With investors remaining cautious as the VN-Index neared 1,200 points, the Vietnamese stock market was sluggish during the trading session on July 26th. However, in the last 15 minutes of the session, the VN-Index surpassed 1,200 points despite the market still showing a predominantly red trend.
The market's focus remained on real estate stocks, with many stocks reversing their downward trend and rising despite strong profit-taking. Among them, DXS and SJS hit their upper limit, NVL increased by 6.17%, KDH by 2.49%, NLG by 2.55%, TCH by 3.13%, ITA by 2.12%, LGC by 6.57%, CRE by 4.34%, etc. In addition, large-cap stocks (including L POW up 2.26%, PNJ up 1.61%,FPT up 1.72%, SAB up 2.28%, MSN up 1.44%, etc.) also rose, contributing to the VN-Index's fourth consecutive day of gains, reclaiming the 1,200-point mark after nearly a year.
Other stock groups such as finance, banking, retail, and energy continued to show divergence. Specifically, in the banking sector, VCB increased by 1.85%, BID by 0.42%, and SSB by 0.34%; many stocks decreased by less than 1%, including CTG, MBB, HDB, VIB, TCB, STB, andSHB . In the securities sector, VIX increased by 2.86%, CTS by 1.63%, ORS by 1.29%, SSI by nearly 1%, and VND by 2.12%; while many other stocks decreased, such as HCM, FTS, BVS, and TVS.
At the close of trading, the VN-Index rose 4.94 points (0.41%) to 1,200.84 points, with 213 stocks gaining, 246 stocks declining, and 85 stocks remaining unchanged. On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index fell slightly by 0.73 points (0.31%) to 236.2 points. Market liquidity decreased sharply, with the total trading value across the market reaching nearly 19,900 billion VND, down more than 2,000 billion VND compared to the previous trading session. Foreign investors continued to be net buyers, purchasing nearly 402 billion VND on the HOSE.
