
According to Phu Yen General Hospital, at approximately 9:03 AM on January 28th, the Emergency Department received Lieutenant Dinh Thanh Trung (940th Air Regiment, Air Force Officer School, Air Defense - Air Force Command) following an incident while performing a flight mission. Upon admission, the hospital activated the "Internal Red Alert" procedure, mobilizing personnel to manage, monitor, and provide intensive treatment. Monitoring revealed the pilot's health to be stable, with no abnormalities detected.

On the same day, Nguyen Van Linh High School (Hoa Hiep Ward, Dak Lak Province) commended and awarded a certificate of merit to Nguyen Thanh Khang (a 11th-grade student) for his timely assistance and first aid to the pilot after he safely landed after parachuting. Khang was the first person to approach and assist Lieutenant Trung at the scene.

According to the Ministry of National Defence , on the morning of January 28th, Lieutenant Dinh Thanh Trung was piloting a YAK-130 aircraft during a flight exercise, taking off at 7:27 AM. During the flight, the aircraft experienced a malfunction and lost contact at 7:44 AM. The pilot attempted to resolve the issue but was unsuccessful, steering the aircraft away from residential areas before safely ejecting. The aircraft crashed into Hon Vinh mountain, causing no casualties or property damage. Currently, relevant authorities are coordinating an investigation into the cause of the incident and organizing search and rescue operations in the area where the aircraft crashed.
