Specifically, on September 13, Mr. Mai Van Niem in Binh Thuan village (Dong Trach commune) while visiting the field discovered a buffalo eating rice in his field. Afterwards, he and some people drove the buffalo out of the rice field and looked for the owner to return it but could not find it.

Reluctantly, Mr. Niem had to take the buffalo back to his house to wait for the owner to come and claim it. He also quickly reported the incident to the village and commune to grasp the situation and make a record of the incident; at the same time, he asked the commune loudspeaker and the people to widely announce so that anyone who lost a buffalo would know to claim it. However, up to now (October 2), 19 days have passed and no one has come to claim the buffalo.
Mr. Niem said: “My family does not raise buffaloes, so we do not have a barn or grass for the buffaloes to eat. However, because we are worried that the buffaloes will be hungry and thin, my family takes turns looking after the buffaloes and cutting grass for them to eat. We hope that if people know who owns the buffaloes, they will contact us so they can come and take the buffaloes home soon.”
