On August 22nd, shooter Le Thi Mong Tuyen, who received a full scholarship from the "Nurturing Sports Talents" program, completed the enrollment procedures and became a new student at Hoa Sen University (Ho Chi Minh City).
Shooter Le Thi Mong Tuyen, born in 2003 in Ho Chi Minh City, is one of 16 Vietnamese athletes who will represent Vietnam at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Mong Tuyen's participation has been a major surprise to experts and fans alike. This is because rifle shooting is not traditionally a strong point for Vietnamese shooting, and no Vietnamese shooter has ever officially qualified for the Olympics to compete in this event.
"I am very happy and excited to come to Hoa Sen University to complete the enrollment procedures. I would like to thank the University's Board of Directors for creating opportunities and granting me this scholarship, so that I can study and improve my knowledge. I will try my best to do well in the upcoming competitions and study hard," Mong Tuyen shared.

Previously, Mong Tuyen made her mark with a series of outstanding achievements such as: 3 gold medals and setting 4 records at the 2022 National Sports Games, a gold medal at the Southeast Asian Championships, 3 gold medals at the 2023 National Championships, and 4th place at the 2024 Asian Shooting Championships. Currently, in the women's 10m air rifle event, Mong Tuyen holds the record for the Youth Championship, the National Championship, and the Games.
Regarding how she got into shooting, Mong Tuyen once shared: "When I was in middle school, I participated in the school's sports program. When I heard about shooting, I found it quite interesting. Because I'm a bit shy, I wanted to participate to help me become stronger."
