Dan Tri continues to update the matches in the round of 16.
Bayern Munich lost 0-1 to Benfica
Before the final match of Group C last night, Bayern Munich were sure to qualify. They needed to earn at least 1 point in the match against Benfica to top the group. However, the "Gray Tigers" caused great disappointment when they lost 0-1.
With this result, Bayern Munich was pushed down to second place in Group C with 6 points, 1 point behind the leader Benfica. Meanwhile, two clubs Boca Juniors (Argentina) and Auckland City (New Zealand) were eliminated.

On social media, many opinions say that Bayern Munich "calculated" failure against Benfica when they wanted to avoid Chelsea in the round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Because the top team in Group D was already determined after two matches, that is Flamengo. Therefore, the Bavarian team proactively chose the opponent from Brazil and did not want to face Chelsea quite early.
In the final match of Group D this morning, Chelsea achieved their goal by winning 3-0 against ES Tunis (Tunisia) to take second place in the group with 6 points, 1 point behind Flamengo.
Thus, after the two groups C and D ended, FIFA determined two more matches in the round of 16: Benfica (first of group C) vs Chelsea (second of group D) and Flamengo (first of group D) vs Bayern Munich (second of group C).

Previously, the first two matches in the round of 16 were determined to be Palmeiras (first place in Group A) against Botafogo (second place in Group B) and PSG (first place in Group B) against Inter Miami (second place in Group A).
In addition to these 8 teams, there are 2 other teams that have qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup but have not yet determined their match: Man City and Juventus (both in Group G).
Tonight and tomorrow morning, the final two matches in Groups E and F will take place. After these matches, FIFA will determine the four teams that will advance to the group stage and the next two matches in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16. Currently, both groups are still undecided and it is not yet determined which clubs will advance.
