
The exhibition of national achievements “80 years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” opened on the morning of August 28 at the National Exhibition Fair Center (Dong Anh commune, Hanoi). With the aim of summarizing the formation process and outstanding achievements of the financial sector over the past 80 years, the Ministry of Finance displayed the space “Development Creation” (Photo: Quyet Thang).

Notable are the Vietnamese banknotes with denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 dong issued during the pre- and post-renovation periods. These artifacts were displayed by the Ministry of Finance at the exhibition, reflecting the historical mark of financial and monetary development associated with the country's economy (Photo: Thanh Thuong).

Inter-zone V treasury bills from 1947-1950 issued by the South Central Vietnam Administrative Resistance Committee and printed at the Inter-zone V Treasury Bill Printing Factory (now in Son Ha commune, Quang Ngai province) and receipts for fund collection to participate in the resistance war in Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Bac Kan , and Lang Son provinces are displayed at the exhibition (Photo: Thanh Thuong).

The first collection of metal coins of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, including the denominations of 2 hao, 5 hao and 1 dong made of aluminum. These are coins issued in late 1945-1946 in the Octagonal basement (today's National History Museum), together with banknotes of the same period, contributing to the formation of the first independent monetary system of Vietnam.

With the aim of honoring the achievements and contributions of the Industry and Trade sector to the country at the exhibition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade brings an exhibition space with the theme "80 years of Industry and Trade growing with the country". To recreate the 80-year journey of the sector, this agency has compiled and selected the most typical information and artifacts for display (Photo: Quyet Thang).

The shirt that May 10 Factory made for Uncle Ho in 1959, after noticing that Uncle Ho's khaki clothes were worn and faded during one of his visits to the Factory. Familiar items from the subsidy period such as teapots, Rang Dong thermos, toad fans... along with popular consumer products of the time are also displayed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Notable are Tet jam boxes and Song Cau, Nhi Thanh, Sa Pa, Dong Da cigarettes... which are associated with the consumer memories of many generations (Photo: Thanh Thuong).

"Food books" and "gasoline supply books" are familiar items during the subsidy period. Food books (also called rice books) were issued to households to buy rice and necessities. Gasoline supply books were issued according to quotas, and only those with books were allowed to buy fuel. By January 1987, this form of distribution ended, and gasoline was sold freely on the market.
