Launching the Competition to Learn about the Law on Using Energy Economically and Efficiently

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, said that the contest "Learning about the law on economical and efficient use of energy" aims to disseminate the law on economical and efficient use of energy to the public, especially the youth. Thereby, contributing to creating favorable conditions for people to clearly understand and apply legal regulations related to economical and efficient use of energy, and to be aware of the economic , environmental and social benefits when applying measures to use energy efficiently; thereby contributing to promoting the process of sustainable development.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, in the context of energy transition and green economic development becoming an inevitable trend globally, Vietnam has been implementing many strong policies towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050, as committed at the COP26 Conference. In particular, using energy economically and efficiently is considered the "first energy source", the core, sustainable and least expensive solution to ensure national energy security, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving the competitiveness of the economy. The Ministry of Industry and Trade - as the agency in charge of implementing the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy, always focuses on raising public awareness, especially the younger generation, about the responsibility and opportunities in using energy in a smart, efficient and creative way.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang believes that the contest is not only an opportunity for students to learn and update their legal knowledge, but also a playground to demonstrate the intelligence, creative thinking and social responsibility of Vietnamese youth. Through the contest, students will gain a deeper understanding of legal regulations, the role of each individual in practicing energy saving, and at the same time form innovative ideas, models and practical solutions that can be applied in their future studies, daily life and work.

The first Competition on Understanding the Law on Energy Saving and Efficiency was organized with 3 main activities. Accordingly, the Preliminary round was organized in the form of an online multiple choice test for individuals and groups participating in the competition through electronic devices. The Preliminary round started from October 14, 2025 to November 6, 2025, including 3 weeks of competition. Every week, the Organizing Committee summarized and announced the Top 3 contestants with the highest results to award prizes. At the end of 3 weeks, the Organizing Committee announced the teams qualified to participate in the Training Round.

The training round will be organized to disseminate legal knowledge and competition sections. The Organizing Committee and experts will conduct training on knowledge and performance skills to convey messages to the teams. The training round will select 3-5 teams to participate in the Final Round.

The Final Round of the Competition is expected to take place at the end of November 2025 in a live format with the participation of the best teams. The teams will demonstrate their knowledge, understanding of the law and talent through dramatizing situations of using the law on energy saving and efficiency.
