At the 2025 World Travel Awards ceremony held in Hong Kong (China) on the evening of October 13, Ho Chi Minh City was awarded Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destination and Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism received the title of Asia's Leading City Tourism Management Agency for the third time.
In particular, Vung Tau (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, now part of Ho Chi Minh City) was awarded the title of short-term resort destination in Asia's leading coastal city.

According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in the first 9 months of 2025, the city welcomed more than 5.88 million international visitors and more than 29.17 million domestic visitors; total tourism revenue reached more than 184,600 billion VND.
The city's tourism industry aims to welcome 10 million international visitors, 50 million domestic visitors and achieve total revenue of VND290,000 billion in 2025.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that after expanding its administrative boundaries, Ho Chi Minh City with its diverse resources, large market, and complete infrastructure is facing the opportunity to transform strongly. From there, it will become a multi-center, modern, and sustainable tourism center of the country and the region.
By 2030, Ho Chi Minh City aims to become the leading tourism center in Southeast Asia, not only attracting tourists, but also creating inspiration and driving innovation for Vietnam's tourism industry.
