Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park has just won double at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2025 in Hong Kong (China), with two prestigious categories: Vietnam's Leading Natural Destination 2025 and Asia's Leading National Park 2025.

The World Travel Awards 2025 (WTA 2025) ceremony took place in Hong Kong (China) on October 13, bringing together leading names in the global tourism industry.

On October 14, Mr. Pham Hong Thai, Director of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park Management Board ( Quang Tri ) said that this is not only a title but also an important milestone, opening a new period of development, elevating the Phong Nha-Ke Bang brand on the high-end tourism map of Asia and the world.

Being honored at both the national and continental levels marks a turning point, transforming Phong Nha-Ke Bang from a pristine "rough gem" that attracts adventurous tourists to a high-class destination that appeals to international visitors.

This title also opens up opportunities to attract strategic investors, develop exquisite eco-resorts, exclusive adventure tours and wellness tourism products in the heart of heritage.

This is the time for Quang Tri to reposition its tourism products, shifting the focus from "selling entrance tickets" to "selling experiences" with cave exploration tours with experts, jungle survival courses, professional photography tours or "healing" vacations in the middle of nature.

Mr. Pham Hong Thai emphasized that the award is not a destination but a new beginning, and affirmed the commitment to developing sustainable tourism and preserving the core values of heritage so that visitors not only admire nature but also feel the respect of the locality.

Previously, in April 2025, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park was rated by the prestigious travel magazine Wanderlust (UK) as the top destination for adventure tourism in Vietnam.

According to Wanderlust, Vietnam is one of the ideal destinations for cave exploration enthusiasts, most notably the World Natural Wonder Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

With a majestic cave system hidden in primeval forests and unspoiled natural landscapes, this place attracts a large number of tourists who love exploration and adventure.

Wanderlust travel magazine also included Son Doong Cave (Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park) in the list of 9 destinations with surreal beauty, making visitors feel like they are lost in another planet. These reviews continue to affirm the position of Phong Nha-Ke Bang on the world tourism map.

On July 3, 2003, at the 27th session, the World Heritage Committee (UNESCO) approved Vietnam's submission to recognize Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park as a World Natural Heritage with the criteria of outstanding global value in geology and geomorphology.

With the efforts of the Vietnamese Government and the support of international organizations, the National Park has been expanded to more than 123,000 hectares to preserve intact the largest ancient limestone mountain range in Southeast Asia.

After 20 years of being recognized as a World Natural Heritage, up to now, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park has achieved many important achievements in the conservation and promotion of the Heritage and has become one of the famous destinations on the regional and international tourism map, contributing to enhancing the position and tourism brand of the province, promoting the socio-economic development of Quang Binh province in particular and Vietnam in general.
