The 3-1 victory over Nepal in the first leg of the final qualifying round for the 2027 Asian Cup has not yet reassured coach Kim Sang-sik about the Vietnamese team. The home team played with their strongest lineup but still struggled to defeat their opponents.

With the Golden Star Warriors needing a big win against Nepal in the return leg to secure a better goal difference, coach Kim Sang-sik will certainly have to be more cautious. Therefore, the number of young players being tested is unlikely to increase.

In the goalkeeper position, young goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien has the opportunity to start instead of senior Dang Van Lam.
