The Foreign Ministry spokesman affirmed that Vietnam supports and is ready to actively contribute to the international community's efforts to rebuild the Gaza Strip on the basis of respecting national sovereignty and principles of international law as well as the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
After more than two years of conflict that killed tens of thousands of people, Israel and Hamas agreed to sign a ceasefire and hostage exchange agreement following a proposal by US President Donald Trump as well as mediation efforts by several countries including Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye.
Under the first phase of the deal, Israel withdrew from some areas in Gaza, while Hamas released the remaining 20 hostages in exchange for about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
