On November 30, sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Mai Anh - a student at the Central University of Art Education - said that until now she has not received the money to participate in the A80 event.
“None of my friends have received this money yet. We have only received certificates of merit. When we learned that students from other schools had received the money, we were a bit concerned but did not dare to question our teachers,” Mai Anh said.
The female student added that the school has never mentioned how much money it will support students.
Minh, a male student from the Central University of Art Education in the A80 alphabet formation team, said similar content.
Minh had heard from friends about being supported with money to practice and participate in the A80 event, but he did not pay attention. Only when the incident at Hanoi College of Tourism became a big issue on social networks did Minh know that many schools had paid for this money.
“For me personally, being able to participate in A80 is a source of pride. I don't care whether I get financial support or not,” Minh said.
Earlier, on the afternoon of November 30, an anonymous post on social media reported that the Central College of Art Education had not yet paid its students. According to the post writer, students from other schools had already received their money.

Responding to Dan Tri reporter, Associate Professor Dr. Le Vinh Hung, Principal of the Central University of Art Education, affirmed: "There is no such thing as the school not paying the students. The school will pay in full and even pay higher than the numbers that students are mentioning on social networks, without deducting any food expenses."
Mr. Hung added that the school is doing the procedures, because the school has the largest number of students participating in A80, about 2,000 students, so it cannot be as fast as schools with only a few hundred students participating.
The uproar over the amount of money to support students participating in the A80 event originated from anonymous posts on social media. The first school to be named was Hanoi College of Tourism. Students reported that the school only supported 940,000 VND/person while other schools paid 1.6-2.2 million VND/person.
Speaking to the press, the school principal said this was a misunderstanding, due to inaccurate information given to students. The students will also receive a second round of support money of about 500,000 VND/person along with a certificate of merit for participating in the event.
