Weather today October 15: Heavy rain in the North, less rain in the South

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from yesterday evening until the end of today, the Northeast and the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh will have moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms. The common rainfall is 15-40mm, in some places there will be heavy rain over 100mm.

Hanoi has showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 15-30mm, some places have heavy rain over 80mm.

Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.

The South and other places have intermittent sunshine, sometimes showers and thunderstorms.

At sea, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand, scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong winds of level 6-7 and waves over 2m high.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
