Eight pairings for the Round of 16 of the 2025-2026 National Cup have been determined.

The Round of 16 of the 2025-2026 National Cup, coming up in November, promises to be very exciting as the matches appear to be quite evenly matched.

On the evening of September 14th, the qualifying round of the 2025-2026 National Cup concluded with the final five matches. The results were largely unsurprising, with the stronger teams all winning.

One of the contenders for the 2025-2026 First Division title, Bac Ninh, won 1-0 at Van Hien University.

Two out of three V-League clubs have won against First Division teams at home. Hong Linh Ha Tinh FC beat Quang Ninh 1-0, andSHB Da Nang FC beat Thanh Nien Ho Chi Minh City FC 2-0.

The only First Division team to win against a V-League team was Truong Tuoi Dong Nai, who defeated Becamex Ho Chi Minh City 3-1 at Binh Phuoc Stadium. However, this result was not surprising, as Truong Tuoi Dong Nai's squad was much stronger in their pursuit of promotion.

In the other match, The Cong - Viettel Club continued their strong form by winning against Hanoi 1-0.

Thus, the organizers have determined the 16 teams that will advance. These include 7 teams that did not have to compete in the qualifying round: Ho Chi Minh City Police, Song Lam Nghe An, Nam Dinh, Hanoi Police, Khatoco Khanh Hoa (who qualified because Hoa Binh Club withdrew from the tournament), Hai Phong, and PVF-CAND.

The Round of 16 of the 2025-2026 National Cup is scheduled to take place on November 22nd and 23rd. The eight specific matches are as follows (played on the home ground of the teams ranked higher):

Ho Chi Minh City Police - Ho Chi Minh City (7:15 PM); Truong Tuoi Dong Nai - Hong Linh Ha Tinh (6:00 PM); Song Lam Nghe An - SHB Da Nang (6:00 PM); Nam Dinh - Long An (6:00 PM); Hanoi Police - The Cong - Viettel (7:15 PM); Khatoco Khanh Hoa - Bac Ninh (5:00 PM); Hai Phong - Ninh Binh (6:00 PM); PVF CAND - Hoang Anh Gia Lai (6:00 PM).

The round of 16 includes 5 first-division teams and 11 V-League teams. Of these, only 2 first-division teams, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai and Bac Ninh, are likely to advance due to their quality squads.

The two most anticipated matches in this round are expected to be between Hanoi Police and The Cong Viettel, and Hai Phong and Ninh Binh.
