The province currently has 648 schools at all levels. Implementing the movement to build cultural, green, clean, beautiful and safe schools, the Department of Education and Training has guided 100% of schools to promulgate and implement a code of conduct, while ensuring that each school campus has a harmonious system of trees, lawns, flower beds and ornamental plants; facilities serving teaching and learning are always clean and airy; facilities are scientifically planned and safe for all educational activities.
Mr. Dang Hong Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: The sector has identified building green, clean, and beautiful schools as a key task, which is included in the work plan and regularly inspected. Currently, most schools have invested in renovating the landscape to be spacious and green, creating a friendly and close-to-nature learning environment.
To date, more than 99% of schools in the province have been recognized with the title of "green - clean - beautiful school - park", of which over 92% of schools have achieved a good rating or higher. |
Accordingly, the organization and implementation of the "green school" movement is implemented synchronously by schools with the participation of the principal, teachers and youth organizations in the school. Every week, many schools maintain the activities of "Volunteer Saturday and Green Sunday" together to plant, care for trees and periodically clean the school. For example, at Luong Van Tri High School (Van Quan commune), every Saturday afternoon, teachers and students take turns weeding, watering plants, cleaning classrooms and the school grounds, turning regular cleaning activities into meaningful habits. Mr. Nguyen Huy Hiep, Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union, said: These simple but practical tasks help students understand their responsibility in keeping the school green, clean and beautiful.
Along with the school cleaning movement, tree planting and landscape building activities are also promoted. At the beginning of each new year and on anniversaries, schools organize to plant more trees in the campus, creating shade and improving the air. The highlight is that along with planting new trees, schools also pay attention to taking care of the existing green tree system and shade trees, periodically checking and taking measures to prune during the rainy season, ensuring safety and keeping the campus neat and fresh. This method not only creates a clean pedagogical landscape, but also forms a specific awareness in students not only to plant a new tree, but also to know how to preserve and protect the existing green areas.
In parallel, many creative models have emerged to spread “green” in schools. Typically, the project “Adopt a tree” was initiated by a group of students from Binh Gia High School. Nguyen Bao Ngoc, a student in class 11A1, a member of the project, shared: To carry out this project, my friends and I connected with garden owners to take care of trees and raise funds to own trees, and at the same time, mobilized friends to take care of trees inside or outside the school campus. By watering, fertilizing, and pruning bonsai trees, students are more connected to nature and raise awareness of environmental protection from the smallest things.
Along with that, the education sector also focuses on promoting waste classification and reducing plastic waste. Many schools have arranged waste classification bins and instructed students to classify waste right in the classroom; actively organized the "Exchange waste for gifts" festival and the "Recycle plastic waste" contest, attracting a large number of students to participate. The "green" factor is also demonstrated in management work when schools actively convert to digital, reducing the use of administrative documents. To date, 100% of schools in the province have deployed school management software and implemented the electronicization of records and books. Promoting digital transformation helps schools significantly reduce the printing of records and books, thereby both improving management efficiency and contributing to reducing paper consumption and protecting the environment.
Thanks to the synchronous implementation of green movements, the appearance of schools and students' awareness in the province has had clear changes. Up to now, more than 99% of schools in the province have been recognized as green - clean - beautiful "school - park", of which over 92% of schools have achieved a good rating or higher. In all schools, teachers and students regularly maintain tree planting, flower bed care, school cleaning, and building increasingly green - clean - beautiful pedagogical landscapes.
From specific actions, from clean schoolyards, green trees to the habit of sorting garbage and limiting plastic waste, it can be affirmed that the green movement in schools has become routine. On that foundation, the provincial education sector is gradually asserting its role in implementing the green growth goal, while contributing to forming a generation of citizens with high awareness, knowing how to appreciate and protect the living environment.
