Since leaving Barcelona, Xavi has yet to accept an offer to manage any team. Although he was mentioned as a candidate by a number of big clubs such as AC Milan, Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen, and Manchester United, they ultimately chose different paths. However, Xavi's hope of working in England seems unlikely to materialize. Premier League teams have already appointed new managers, and the chances of a job becoming vacant early in the season are quite slim.
Meanwhile, the remaining options are not very appealing. Qatar – which was once the launching pad for Xavi's coaching career – could be a return option. In addition, Saudi Arabia is actively pursuing European strategists with lucrative offers, and Xavi is certainly on their list.
Forty-five days have passed since Xavi left Barcelona, and he has yet to return to the pitch. For someone who once declared his desire to build a football philosophy and leave a lasting mark, the journey to find his ideal destination seems still fraught with challenges for the former Spanish star.
