Innovation in approach
Phu Da town is perhaps one of the few localities in the province with effective economic development models run by young people. In his position, Mr. Ho Thanh Tien has taken over a youth loan group with a total outstanding loan balance of over 1.7 billion VND, creating opportunities for young people to borrow capital for economic development. With the support of this loan group, the Dafusa Phu Da Youth Economic Development Cooperative was established, specializing in the production and sale of soybean products. Currently, its products are available throughout the market both within and outside the province, bringing economic benefits. Several other youth economic development models have also been implemented effectively, contributing to the local economic development, such as the Top Life clean water production model; and the interior design advertising business model…
Ho Thanh Tien shared that most young people in the commune go to the South to work, and some work as factory workers in industrial zones in the area. Recognizing the locality's great potential for entrepreneurship through economic development models, the Youth Union sought funding and jointly planned the development of models based on the available personnel; then, they assigned tasks to find markets, connect with factories and industrial zones to find outlets for the products. Thorough preparation and the collective effort of the entire group have helped the models maintain and develop, providing employment for many young people in the town.

On the joyous occasion of the house being handed over to the two sisters, Le Ngoc Phuong Anh and Le Ngoc Khanh An (La Van Ha village, Quang Tho commune, Quang Dien district), by benefactors, Truong Quang Truyen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Quang Tho commune, could not hide his emotion at the girls' plight. Their parents had passed away one after another due to serious illnesses. They lived in a dilapidated house and depended on meager monthly support from local organizations and neighbors. Witnessing this situation, Truong Quang Truyen sought ways to connect and mobilize additional resources to support the two girls. Thanks to this collective effort, a house of compassion was built for them with a total cost of 150 million VND. Even more fortunately, through the connection of the Youth Union Secretary, the Ky Nguyen Group in Ho Chi Minh City sponsored the girls' living expenses until they turn 18, with a total amount of 225 million VND.
With innovative approaches and a focus on mobilizing funds to support disadvantaged individuals in the area, and with the approval of the commune's leaders, Truong Quang Truyen organized numerous traditional boat races and dozens of football tournaments within the commune. Through these events, nearly 650 million VND was raised. After deducting organizational expenses, the remaining funds were distributed to poor and disadvantaged households and those less fortunate in the commune. This dynamic Youth Union Secretary also mobilized the people to donate nearly 45,700 square meters of land, over 2,600 meters of fence, thousands of trees of various kinds, and contributed 15,369 man-days of labor to build infrastructure projects serving production and daily life.
Creating an environment for young cadres
In his role and responsibilities, Dr. Nguyen Minh Hanh, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at Hue Central Hospital, has actively organized many activities to inspire creativity among young doctors and medical staff in participating in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns linked to the unit's political tasks. These include participating in a program to provide free medical examinations and medication to hundreds of people in mountainous and coastal communes in the province; organizing lung cancer and other lung disease screenings for approximately 2,000 people in Huong Thuy town and Phu Vang district. Particularly noteworthy is his creativity in establishing a playground and learning area called "Space for Children" for child patients undergoing treatment at the Radiotherapy Department 2 of Hue Central Hospital.

According to Dr. Nguyen Minh Hanh, a young doctor, besides striving to improve his professional skills, as the Youth Union Secretary, he constantly seeks out new, practical solutions that are relevant to the current situation. For pediatric patients in the Radiotherapy Department 2, treatment often takes a long time. These children have already suffered from terrible diseases, so he always wanted to do something to compensate for their suffering, both mentally and materially. After proposing the idea to the Party Committee and the hospital's Board of Directors, and receiving their approval, he and his team members worked together to connect and mobilize resources to establish a play and learning area. Seeing the children reading, playing, and smiling warms his heart.
While the specific characteristics, nature, and working environment of each young official differ, they all share a common trait: they are dynamic, creative, enthusiastic, and radiate positive energy; they constantly seek out new approaches that are relevant to the practical situation and implement their work effectively. This has yielded benefits, especially in contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality and supporting disadvantaged groups.
At the conference summarizing Party building work in 2024 and outlining directions and tasks for 2025, organized by the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department in early December 2024, Provincial Party Secretary Le Truong Luu pointed out that the province is currently lacking a pool of young cadres with competence and in-depth professional expertise. Therefore, the Provincial Party Secretary particularly emphasized to agencies, units, organizations, and localities that, as Thua Thien Hue becomes a centrally-governed city, the work of creating a pool of young cadres plays a particularly important role. In cadre planning, priority must be given to dynamic, creative young cadres who dare to think and act. Party committees at all levels need to create an environment and be bold in planning, appointing, and assigning tasks so that young cadres can demonstrate their abilities and contribute to the development of their roles.
To gain trust and be entrusted with responsibilities by their superiors, young officials must be more proactive in their work. They must always maintain a spirit of innovation and creativity; leverage their youthful energy, dare to think and act, and be at the forefront in all areas of work. The combination of these two factors will form a well-rounded team of officials, worthy of being young officials of a centrally-governed city.
