(NLĐO) - The passenger bus accident on Bao Loc Pass has so far resulted in one death and three seriously injured.

On the evening of March 30th, authorities in Lam Dong province continued the rescue operation for the passenger bus 50H-32365 that had fallen into a ravine on Bao Loc Pass earlier that day.

As of now, the vehicle has not yet been removed from the road, but the deceased victim and three injured people have been taken to the hospital.

According to information from the scene, the accident resulted in the death of Ms. NTNT (26 years old, residing in Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province); three people were injured: HV and NY suffered broken arms, and Mr. NHT (24 years old, residing in Dong Xoai City) sustained back injuries.

According to initial information, at approximately 5:30 PM on the same day, driver Nguyen Van Lan (44 years old, residing in Dong Xoai City) was driving a passenger bus carrying 36 people from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon reaching the area, the bus collided with the rear of a truck with license plate 60H-153.46 driven by Nguyen Trung Hieu (48 years old, residing in Duc Trong District, Lam Dong Province) traveling in the same direction ahead.

Rescue workers are on the scene.

After the collision, the passenger bus veered to the left side of the road and plunged into a ravine on the Bao Loc pass, approximately 20 meters deep, causing dozens of passengers inside to scream and cry for help. The accident resulted in the death of Ms. T. and injuries to three others.

The initial cause of the accident was determined to be the bus driver losing control of the vehicle due to excessive speed; the bus had lost its brakes before colliding with the truck. Immediately after the accident, rescue forces and local authorities quickly arrived to conduct rescue operations and investigate the cause of the incident.

Authorities are trying to pull the overturned passenger bus back onto the road.
