Pioneering 'warhorses'

QTO - In East Asian culture, people born in the Year of the Horse are often mentioned for their free-spirited, resilient, and fearless nature. Along with the business community of Quang Tri province, entrepreneurs born in the Year of the Horse are likened to pioneering "warhorses" steering their businesses through difficulties and contributing to the development of their homeland.

The spirit of a leader

In the province's economic landscape, Ha Quang Garment Factory ( thuộc to Garment Corporation 10) stands out as a bright spot of stability and growth, and the man behind that success is director Vo Xuan Trung (born in 1978). Having held various positions before joining Ha Quang Garment Factory, with his flexible thinking and decisiveness, Mr. Trung, along with the staff and workers of the factory, has transformed challenges into opportunities.

Mr. Trung shared: "There have been many times when the purchasing power of both domestic and international markets decreased while fuel costs increased, and the financial market was unstable, significantly impacting the textile and garment industry in general and the May 10 Corporation, including the Ha Quang Garment Factory, in particular. However, in that context, the unity and creativity of the staff and workers of the Ha Quang Garment Factory were demonstrated, working together to overcome difficulties and find solutions to stabilize production and ensure the livelihoods of the workers."

Located in the Northwest Dong Hoi Industrial Zone, Ha Quang Garment Factory has become a "second home" for over 1,000 workers. By the end of 2025, the impressive figures demonstrated the talent and resilience of Director Vo Xuan Trung and the factory's staff: producing nearly 4.7 million products; generating an impressive revenue of nearly 8.8 million USD; and ensuring an average income of nearly 9 million VND per person per month for its employees.

If Mr. Vo Xuan Trung is a symbol of stability, then businesswoman Le Thi Huong (born in 1966) represents the innovative thinking and foresight of the generation of entrepreneurs born in the year of the Horse. Bringing with her the experience of living in Germany – where approximately 85% of the population chooses vocational training and achieves success instead of pursuing a university degree – Ms. Le Thi Huong returned to Vietnam with the aspiration to change the career mindset of workers in the Central region.

With pioneering spirit, in 2015, Ms. Le Thi Huong decided to establish Binh Minh Vocational College, one of the first vocational education institutions in Central Vietnam operating under a socialized model. "Fire tests gold, hardship tests strength," overcoming a long and difficult journey and challenges, under the leadership of Ms. Le Thi Huong, Binh Minh Vocational College has now firmly established itself as one of the most reputable training institutions in the province and region. Currently, the school has successfully built three campuses in Quang Ninh, Quang Trach, and Cam Hong communes, with a capacity of thousands of students per year and a state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Not stopping there, this businesswoman born in the year of the Horse has extended her vision to the global market by successfully fostering partnerships with foreign companies to send local workers to Europe. Ms. Le Thi Huong affirms: High-quality vocational training is an advanced educational model, focusing on practical skills, foreign languages, and soft skills, based on international or regional standards. This is also the sustainable development direction that Binh Minh Vocational College is pursuing, with a focus on close collaboration with partner businesses, opening up job opportunities and high incomes for workers.

The third piece in the picture of entrepreneurs born in the year of the Horse is Ms. Hoang Thao Anh (born in 1978), Deputy Director of Khanh Hoang Trading and Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Dong Ha Ward. In the highly competitive and challenging field of aluminum and glass furniture business, she chose to partner with her husband to develop the enterprise. Her keen business sense and resourcefulness, combined with her husband's flexible business acumen, have helped the business stand firm and grow, contributing to the modern urban landscape.

With a promising market and expanding production and business activities, creating jobs for dozens of local workers, what makes the community remember Ms. Hoang Thao Anh is not only her business acumen, but also her compassionate heart. True to the generous and tolerant spirit of those born in the Year of the Horse, she is always actively involved in social activities. From providing free porridge at hospitals to personally delivering gifts to poor but studious students and students in mountainous areas with difficult circumstances, Ms. Hoang Thao Anh has been spreading love and demonstrating the social responsibility of an entrepreneur towards the community.

Aspiration to contribute

Mr. Vo Xuan Trung, Ms. Le Thi Huong, and Ms. Hoang Thao Anh—three individuals, two generations born in the year of the Horse (Binh Ngo and Mau Ngo), working in different fields but sharing a common aspiration to contribute. Their success is not only a personal achievement but also a building block contributing to the increasingly strong business community of Quang Tri .

Speaking with reporters, Mr. Vo Thai Hiep, Chairman of the Provincial Business Association, shared: “The provincial business community always plays a core role in creating stable jobs for hundreds of thousands of workers, contributing significant resources to the budget, and actively cooperating with the government in social welfare work and caring for the people's lives. The cohesion and spirit of responsibility have contributed to the formation of a united, strong, and confident business community. Many businesses in the province are not only dynamic in the domestic market but also expand into the region and internationally, bringing Quang Tri's products and brands to a wider audience.”

Recognizing that the success of businesses is also the success of the province, Quang Tri has continuously improved its investment environment and promoted administrative reforms. Not just a slogan, this mindset has been concretized by the province through decisive actions, considering the development of the business community and enterprises as a measure of the effectiveness of the local government's administration.

Currently, the province has nearly 10,000 active businesses, averaging about 5 businesses per 1,000 people.
