People lined up from 4 a.m. to buy application forms for first grade.

Although the Saigon University Practice Primary School was scheduled to distribute application forms for first grade at 2 PM on June 17th, many parents had already arrived at the school gate as early as 4 AM to register and purchase the forms.

Ms. Trang, a resident of Phu Nhuan district, said that to ensure she could purchase the application form for first grade, she arrived at the school gate at 5 a.m. "I thought I was the earliest, but it turned out some parents arrived even earlier, as early as 4 a.m." Ms. Trang said.

In the school's parent group, many parents said that last school year, thinking it wouldn't be stressful, they arrived at school at 7 a.m., but by the time they got there, it was too late. "With that mindset, many parents lined up very early," shared Mr. Thang, a parent.

According to many parents, by around 9 a.m., more than 200 parents had already registered to purchase application forms, and many parents expressed concern that they might miss their chance.

Saigon University Practice Primary School is affiliated with Saigon University and implements an advanced, internationally integrated school model. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the school will enroll 150 students in grade 1, with two sessions per day, and will also offer integrated classes.

The target group for admission is children aged 6 years old (born in 2018). The university will consider applications in the following order of priority: Children whose father or mother is a civil servant or employee currently working at Saigon University (based on employment contracts or confirmation letters from the Human Resources Department).

Children who are the offspring of individuals or organizations that have collaborated and contributed significantly to the school's development; children whose father or mother is a public sector official or employee; and preschool children who fall under the remaining categories.

Despite arriving early in the morning, many parents stayed at the school until it was time to distribute the application forms.

Admission process: Parents can directly obtain application forms at the Saigon University Practice Primary School. Admission is based on student records. Application forms will be issued from 2 PM on June 17th until all forms are distributed. Application submission period: June 19th to June 20th. Admission results will be announced on July 1st. Enrollment documents will be submitted from July 2nd to 4th. The provisional class placement list will be announced on August 8th.
