Gold price on the afternoon of December 23, 2024 in the domestic market
At 1:15 p.m. on December 23, the price of SJC gold listed by Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) increased sharply compared to other brands in the same segment. Specifically, SJC gold is currently traded at VND82.3 - 84.3 million/tael (buy - sell), an increase of VND500,000/tael in both directions compared to the previous day.
On the contrary, the price of gold bars of DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City decreased slightly by VND 100,000/tael in both buying and selling prices, currently trading at VND 82.3 - 84.3 million/tael.
For Phu Quy Gold and Gemstone Group, the buying price of SJC gold remained at VND82.4 million/tael, unchanged from the previous day; while the selling price decreased slightly by VND100,000/tael, reaching VND84.3 million/tael.
Meanwhile, PNJ brand gold rings in two major cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, still maintain the buying price at 83.4 million VND/tael. On the selling side, the price decreased by 100,000 VND/tael, down to 84.3 million VND/tael.
Looking back at the developments over the past month, from November 23 to December 23, the gold price recorded a significant decrease. The SJC gold price for buying decreased from VND85 million/tael to VND82.3 million/tael, while the selling price also decreased from VND87 million/tael to VND84.3 million/tael.
Gold price on the afternoon of December 23, 2024 on the international market
In the international market, gold prices fell 2% during the past week. Although the US gold futures price increased 1.4% to 2,645.10 USD/ounce in the final trading session of the week, the previous declines still caused the international gold price to end the week with a decrease.
Gold prices rebounded late in the week, buoyed by a weaker dollar and falling US Treasury yields, after recent economic data showed that US inflation is slowing.
